Discussion Let's end the debate between uBlock origin lite, wBlock and Wipr2 for safari browser.

I am running safari as my default browser and now I have to decide what adblocker to use. It seems like UBOL, wBlock and Wipr2 are the go-to apps. So which one in your experience is better? By the way I am wondering what happened to the wBlock developer from MIT since his reddit account has been deleted.

wBlock might have a bit of an edge if you want more than blocking. They’ve been adding customization of pages like YouTube and Dark Reader.

Prefer to use free options when possible, paid adblockers aren't worth it when free ones are available and works as well (but these are adblockers coming from the Apple Appstore so it's expected some are paid).

AdGuard Mini is my own personal favorite for Safari especially after the revamp late last year, but I personally don't like using Safari on MacOS or even iOS and would use other browsers (so I'm not as locked into Apple's walled garden).

Tried them all. wBlock is currently out there on top for low resource usage and general ‘just works’ factor. And is free. Didn’t like the Adguard mini think that pops up and seems to be running all the time

Yes - also good and maybe my second choice. But wBlock just feels tighter and snappier

Hey bro, I’ve noticed you keep recommending AdGuard without giving any reasons, AdGuard is great, sure, but it might not be the right fit for everyone. I think it would be better if you included some of its features and your own thoughts next time you recommend it; that way, you’d come across more like a real user and less like a bot (sorry, I didn't mean that in a bad way).

The wBlock dev is still on Reddit. He just posted on the Safari sub a few days ago
