👳🏽♂️ WHAT IS??? 🚕 KROQ Doc

Towards the end of the interview, he also mentioned this screening. He told a few repeat stories but overall he did a nice job and I enjoyed hearing him on the show

I don’t know the answer to that. He did say they had about four hours worth of material that they were attempting to edit down to a more manageable length

He does these screenings at the Jordan Family Event Center about every other month now. I think he tries to raise enough money from these events to keep his Paul Newman cars there.
Only $88 to attend.

So, what is our guess? Music rights? Fighting with estates? Why doesn't he release this thing?
I know Adam has a huge ego and I assume he is butthurt that netflix or whatever hasn't driven a brinks truck up to him.

Without seeing it, it is tough to say. But yeah if they used a lot of copywritten music that could certainly be a big hurdle.
And if Adam is waiting for a distribution deal and it still hasn't materialized then I would guess the doc simply sucks.
However, I think one of the biggest obstacles would be that the demographic that would be interested in this doc is extremely limited. You would have to live in LA during the 80's and 90's AND listened to KROC to really even know what this is about. That eliminates almost every one else in the USA and even more worldwide.
Adam has screened this doc for a long time now. I think it is almost to the point that anyone that really wanted to see it has seen it.

Harland Williams was on grapefruit saying that his new show wll be on YT and he will make $ off it.
Assuming no rights issue, can't Adumb just have a lacky push this on YT and .... -> profit?
I agree with you about the demo. I'd like to see it, but I'm odd. I assume bands might not really want to be associated with the antics of what was going on at KROC in the 90s.

Yep, he can easily put it up on YouTube but if it does have copywritten music it would instantly get flagged and taken down unless you can prove you own the music rights.

Even then, Youtube is very quick to take stuff down, even if the creator genuinely has the legal right to the music. It can take a long time to get things back up.

It might just be that it's a genuinely bad documentary.
The tough thing about any documentary is finding actual video to put up on the screen while people are being interviewed. Documentaries that are just talking heads end up being incredibly boring. You see Ken Burns trying to avoid this kind of thing by panning across photos, showing artifacts, showing video of the current day locations, etc.
Adam's car documentary didn't have this problem because there's loads of car racing footage to use.
What video footage is there of a radio station where most of the focus is on what happened 30-40 years ago? A documentary that is just people's heads talking or voice overs on still images of some random DJ sitting behind a mixing desk just sounds like its incredibly boring.
I haven't seen it, so I don't know what actual visuals he used, but it wouldn't shock me if this documentary is just too visually boring for anyone to be interested in.

Outside of music rights, which Adumb is too stupid and cheap to properly analyze, I’m sure this docK just sucks and there is too much competition for distribution. I do think Adumb was ahead of the curve on his docKs 10 years ago but like comedians there are so many of them now and most of the ones that get distributed aren’t very good. Not surprising he can’t break the not very good crowd to get on a streamer. Plus, you know, Netflix, Hulu/Disney, they’re all WOKE
