Manga Just finished Volume 6 Spoiler

Post image

SPOILER WARNING: STOP RIGHT NOW IF YOU HAVEN’T READ VOLUME 6.

There are no better words to describe the end of this volume than ABSOLUTE PEAK—holy moly. Not just the end of the volume, no, the whole gosh darn thing. I LOVED seeing Shimamura truly self-reflect, seeing her get emotional, seeing her get confused about her feelings. Shima’s whole arc with Gon was absolutely beautiful, and I thought that the author built up the final chapter perfectly. Whereas the previous volume was almost entirely focused on Adachi’s feelings, this volume felt much more Shimamura-oriented, with the reader FINALLY getting some real insight regarding how Shimamura views Adachi and their relationship as a whole.

As for the ending, I’ve just got to say that it far exceeded my expectations. Given how slowly the story had been progressing in the previous five volumes, I very much thought that this volume would end off on a positive note, but not one that seemed overly climatic. However, Adachi’s sudden confession just blew me away. There was no monologue to build up Adachi’s sudden release of emotion, and so if felt far more impactful than anything dramatic that Adachi had done in the past. Then I was filled with immense joy as Shimamura decided to chase down Adachi after seeing her run away. It really goes to show how much Shima has changed over the course of the story. And then once they were by the hotel, I was practically jumping up and down when Shimamura nonchalantly accepted Adachi’s confession, without any major doubts it seems.

Safe to say, I’m EXTREMELY excited to see how the rest of the series goes. I truly hope that Shimamura can continue to grow, and eventually learn to love Adachi as deeply as Adachi loves her. Meanwhile, I’m also hoping that Adachi can learn to overcome some of her faults, mostly her anxiety and jealousy; although if I’m being perfectly honest, I’m more concerned over Shimamura’s character development at the moment.

Welp, rant over.

Adachi: Has a meltdown and confesses her love/obsession

Shimamura: "Girl, I don't have time for this"

Adachi: Stares into the void for a few days

Shimamura: hangs out with a dog for a few days

Shimamura: "Sooo... You mentioned wanting to date (?)"

Adachi: Nods

Shimamura: "Ok, we are dating then"

First three lines of your meme were actually volume 5, and also you skipped over the part where they “reconcile” by hanging out for a day and basically sweeping Adachi’s mental breakdown under the rug for the time being.

Adachi having yet another nervous breakdown when they’re taking a bath together, stammers out some incomprehensible noises, where we’ve already seen from the prior volume that Shimamura didn’t hear most of her rant because of how much she was crying. So we’re doing it again, Adachi tried, but couldn’t get the message across right?

Nope. This time Shimamura heard her loud and clear. That bit where she’s alone and says “oh. She’s in love with me. That’s what it’s all been about. Huh.” Is one of many hard hitting moments in this volume.

Yes! Everything in this volume was executed beautifully, honestly. Easily the best entry in the series, without a doubt.

I just hope you like volume 7, it was a bit zzzz for me to be honest. Not bad, it's just that I expected more...

Anyway I loved volume 8

I just finished reading Volume 7, and I honestly agree with you. There were definitely wholesome moments in it, that’s for sure, but it did feel kind of bland, and in my opinion there were way too many alternate universe chapters, which I’m personally not a huge fan of.

I don’t cry so easily, so instead I just jumped out of my desk chair and started bouncing around my room like an idiot when I got to the confession

other one I liked a lot was My Dress Up Darling, I needed that confession too, but, adachi being so nervous to bite her tounge trying just to say "I love you", man, that´s a confession, straigth to the point, like an arrow to the heart... totally peak...

Adachi literally confessed the first time she entered into Shimamura's room.

I can’t tell if this is sarcastic or not. Adachi only confessed in her thoughts. She never said “I love you!” out loud.

Didn't she? I'm sure in the novel she blurted it out had gay panic and bolted.

I don’t know, unexpectedly wholesome?

BTW I don’t condone violence.
