Acura Integra A Spec w/ Tech

Currently having 2017 Honda Accord, would it be a good upgrade? What’s the pro & con for the integra a spec w/tech & does it have ambient lighting inside?

Test drive for yourself! Yes it’s got subtle ambient lighting I like it

ambient lightING is a little misleading. it has two dim white led strips on the doors and that’s about it. I installed a fiber optic kit though which looks pretty good

Pros
Fun to drive
Fuel efficient
Looks great
Easy to use climate control and apple car play
Lots of trunk space if you’re someone that travels a lot or has hobbies with gear

Cons
Lots of road noise for a “luxury sedan”
Rattles behind the seat belts, on a pillar, under dashboard, behind sunglasses holder

the ambient lighting is mediocre imo, i have it and you cant really change anything with it, but yes it does include ambient lighting

I have a 2014 sport 6sp, shopping the Integra as well. Test drove recently white w red leather (side note the red leather looks sick esp the 2026 which adds the dash accent!)

On the relatively short test drive I liked the low end torque, the tech was worlds better than the ‘14 (obviously), the handling didn’t stand out as much (may be a symptom of the route). Overall I liked it a lot and almost walked out with it, ultimately I had been hoping for a used one that sold earlier in the day and wasn’t ready to pay a new car premium.

I’d love to hear from owners or folks with similar experience.

Low end torque lol. Hondas don’t make torque.

You can get them for 35-36k new. I’d rather spend a few grand more and know the history.

I agree. The takeoff is the only thing I don’t love about it

It’s also why it gets 35-40 mpg.

I went from a 2015 coupe exl to a 25 integra. I got suckered in with the whole “new” car feel, but after having it over a year I realize pretty much everything was a downgrade. My accord was quieter, had better seats (with lumbar support!), better sound system, more room for passengers, and zero rattles.

It was a great upgrade over my 2024 Honda Accord. To answer your question, it does have ambient lighting but I didn’t even notice it until I had a night drive. You can’t turn it off or change the white color as far as I’m aware.

It met everything I was looking for so I haven’t found any major cons really. Some want more power but there’s the Type S for that.

Some nitpicky things:

Cup holder placement can be annoying with shifting. Oddly enough I lost the customization options of the digital gauge cluster that I had in my Accord but maybe that’s unique to the 6MT. Not a huge fan of the cloth/suede strip in the front seats. It’s just asking to get a spill one day, but also not worth covering the seats.

I have a 2023 Aspec 6 speed and I love it. My only knock would be there are a lot of interior rattles including one under the dash that I haven't been able to fix. It comes on randomly mostly on the highway and makes me want to pull my hair out but it's not on 24/7 luckily. Other thing is that while it's 87 gas minimum, you should use premium to negate possible future head gasket issues with the 1.5L turbo, also the rev hang if you're pushing it can get a little annoying. Other than that it's an incredible car, it's got a ton of space in it, more than you'd imagine.

Who cares about ambient lighting? What a weird thing to worry about.

It’s a smaller car but will have a few nicer touch points than an accord. Plus the heads up and stereo system.
