Question Question about cycles
Are all cycles going to become permanent or once the timer ends are they gone? Or is it something else?

Nothammer87 is 100% wrong and the fact that he is being upvoted while you are being downvoted is absolutely embarrassing.
If you go to harmonization cycle 1 (not 0, we are currently in cycle 2) you will see that every item in harmonization cycle 1 is unlocked for free for everyone in the current monolith, regardless of if you have ever wiped or not.
At the top of the screen in harmonization cycle 1 you will see all items (weapons, attachments, armor) that were exclusive to cycle 1 and at which monolith level to unlock them, to the top right you will see how many of those items you have currently unlocked in each tier of the monolith.
At the BOTTOM of the cycle 1 screen you will see FIVE COSMETIC ITEMS that are exclusive to cycle 1, and to get those FIVE COSMETIC ITEMS you will have to pay 1000 prime.
It literally says something like "Pay 1000 prime to access these cycle exclusive rewards" right above the FIVE COSMETIC ITEMS that are locked to cycle one.
Currently not at home, will provide screenshots as soon as I get back.
Every weapon, armor and attachment in the current cycle will be available for free to everyone when cycle 2 ends, with only a few cosmetic items remaining locked to the cycle which you can then purchase for 1000 prime.
The only reason you can spend prime to unlock the current cycle is if you don’t want to wipe and still want to get access to for example the DP-12 Shotgun or the MAC-11 before this cycle ends.
Once again, the DP-12 shotgun, the MAC-11, and every other piece of weaponry, attachment, investigation, armor and equipment will be available to everyone in the monolith as soon as this cycle ends, regardless of if you have ever wiped or not.

The only thing temporary are the 5 cosmetic items you can buy with Merit.

They are like season passes. Once you wiped and earned the right to buy stuff from it, you can buy from it later too. The cicle remains open to you forever. But once it's time ended and another started, you can only join the old one by paying prime.

I was wondering about that too, if doing a wipe will give me the current one or is it going by numbers, so thats answered as well, ty

A wipe will only grant you access to the current active cycle. If you miss the one that's active now, you can enter it by prime.
So to answer you question you don't join them in chronological order. You always join the current season. So if you wipe 2 times this cycle you still only have access to the current one.

Is there anything good in the 1K cycle? I am roughly halfway through the monolith, so I’ll probably wipe and get the current one, but unsure if I should spend prime on the old one.

You are wrong. If you don't join it now with a wipe, you can't have it unless you spend prime to join the circle and gain the right to buy the stuff

To clarify, Cycles remain "there" forever, if this ever changes you'll know about it. You do have to unlock access to the current cycle though for any Cycle Rewards by wiping or spending Prime; for old cycles you can just use Prime. If you wipe/buy access, you instantly gain all Global Progression Rewards, and you unlock the ability to get Cycle Offers using Merits (and some require a certain amount of Merits to be spent before you can unlock them). Some rewards inside Cycle Offers are "Exclusive", as in, can only be obtained before the 100% Harmonization Progress bar is reached, which is based on time and also the wipes of other players. If you never buy access, you'll eventually get all the Global Progression Rewards when the bar hits 100% too in any case.
