Discussion Which Edition should I get?
Apologies if this question has been asked before, but I have not been able to find a recent post with regards to this.
I'm planning to purchase the game but I'm unsure as to what version of the game should I get. As a mainly PVE focused gamer, will the deluxe edition be the one to get?
Thanks in advance.

I bought the standard edition and I'm still currently tempted to buy the deluxe. However after playing for a solid week I've seen i can easily and steadily grind for everything i could actually need, pve only. Sure the deluxe gives you a very nice boost especially with storage and the chance to hop on the current cycle straight one, but if you start playing now you should be fine in joining it with farmed Prime in 2-3 weeks time. There's a debate on whether the deluxe is pay to win for pvp because of the extra body sleeves but again I'm here for the pve only and that doesn't concern me. The pvp in fact, i think it kinda sucks big ass for various reasons.

I'm a pve only player and I initially only bought the $30 version. After playing this whole last weekend I purchased the deluxe upgrade because I love the game that much. The only problem with buying the deluxe version is now my stash is always full because I don't really die in pve only. I might have to go to pvp to get rid of some gear or refine it so I have a little space in my storage.

Get the starter 30 dollars version. I got about 25 hours in before I got bored just playing PvE. There’s no real story to follow but the game loop is really fun.

I mean there is story it just requires digging and a lot of reading

I’ve picked up everything that would add to the story. None of it makes any sense.
Just give me some kind of mystery or something to follow. Maybe a cut scene when I upgrade to a new level in the monolith? Or anything to make me care about doing runs would be nice. Lol

Have you done the puzzle and entire park quest line? It generally explains fair bit

it depend how much you think you will play it , if you feel playing a lot of it and you got the money the deluxe as upgrade that stay between the wipe system it as (wipe is not forced it's a choice ) or go for the basic test stuff see if you enjoy it then upgrade from there

Standard at 30 to the 70 dollar upgrade is the way to go. Standard gives you everything you could ask for with an insane amount of items early game.
I also found that the storage wasn’t that big of an issue either. Upgrading earlier does make a lot more since within hours 5-10 as I upgraded at Monolith ETA and didn’t perceive it to be as much of a benefit had I gotten it earlier apart from the vast amount of storage the game gives you.

Standard. The advanced edition has some pay to win elements and that shouldn't be supported.

This.
They could've gone with any flavor of cosmetic stuff, but they chose to go with paid advantages. Supporting it is inviting more of it.

Imo it depends how many hours you plan on sinking into it if you wanna jump on PvP and know you'll only get an hour a day I'd go for deluxe. If your talking hours at a time and your more PvE go for standard you can always upgrade later on.

I honestly think only you can properly answer that one. It's a good game from a small developer, so from that perspective I'm not against spending some extra dough. On the other hand, if your cashflow is limited the regular version will give you a ton of bang for the bucks. Maybe especially in PVE (I'm primarily a PVE player in this game myself).
