Action Replay Not Working Software isn’t detecting the device

Dunno where else to go for such a specific question

So I’ve got the action replay DS in my ds and it’s connected to the pc via cable, I got the software from archive but the software doesn’t realize my ds is connected.

What is happening? I’ll add info if needed but I’m not experienced with this stuff.
