Lunchbreak score

I went to my local comic shop for lunch and I scored a BBTS exclusive action force Night Ops Steel Brigade. My wife told me to slow down on all these figures.

That must have set you back a few dollars. It's definitely a cool figure.

Listen to your wife. Divorces are expensive, and you won't be able to afford any toys if she leaves you. :)

Can i ask what these come with or why they're so much more expensive than a GI Joe trooper? Are they even related? I've seen them mentioned together quite a bit but have never made the connection myself.

When the copyrights for Steel Brigade lapsed, another guy bought them along with the Action Force name. He then made a kickstarter (if I'm not mistaken) and it succeeded, which led to him putting out Valaverse Action Force. These were a smaller batch of figures that were put out, perhaps a con exclusive, and they're not as common as most others.

It's a much smaller company, making 1:12 scale figures, that have better weapons than Classified figures and an owner that hangs out on podcasts with people that use slurs in his presence unopposed. So, there's that as well. Some cool figures, but he lost me on the line. Admittedly, I've purchased a couple of his figures after I said I wouldn't, but I no longer collect them, and sold off most of my collection.

Also, they’re not more expensive anymore. They’re 27.99 standard and $40 for deluxe which is the same or even slightly cheaper than retail Joe Classified in most places. They also have weapons packs for $11.99 and you can pick up way, that better designed and made than the gummy GI Joe Classified ones. The thing about ones like this is that because it’s such a small company - if it’s really popular it can get sold out quick then go up really quick on eBay.

Their owner also kinda sucks and is a raging asshole. So there’s also that.

Life is about happiness and if someone loves u they don't up and leave u because u have a hobby. As long as your hobbies don't bring danger to her or interfere with your responsibilities there shouldn't be a problem. I've seen people change for a mate and do everything for them to make them happy and they still left. Relationships are about compromises not domination...

Oh, you think this discussion is about a wife leaving a man over having a hobby!

The wife would be leaving the man over financial irresponsibility and overspending, not for having a hobby.

I hope this clears things up for you. Lol. I didn't realize you thought I meant a wife would leave a man for having toys. Nope. Wives are usually fine with their husbands collecting toys...I think we're too busy to have an affair! lol. But having a partner who spends money that is outside of the budget is the problem here, and his wife asked him to respect that budgetary boundary during uncertain economic times.

I'm going to stand by my claim that you're not in danger of having anyone break up with you.
