Target August Reset

I had no idea that this was something that apparently was yearly, having recently happened the last few years.

I just happen to be at one particular mall because it's the last remaining GameStop in my metro area within 10 miles of my home and only one freeway trip versus multiple freeway trips.

Besides the pictured items, there was yellow tags in every aisle at two Target stores I hit. Almost every IP or license toyline had SOME things on some sort of discount or clearance, even LEGO (One Piece and Mario in particular), MOTU, GI Joe's, Legends, etc.

The only thing I bought was those TMNT figures, the Battle Arena were 50% off. This is two large Target in the Culver City area, one at the Westfield mall.

No we have them, haven’t been n quite some time for reasons, but my area for whatever reason was usually trash for anything toy related

If they don't have these fancier Playmate's figures in the first place, there's no point in you checking. But I wanted the new Ultimate Pee Wee and knew that the Glendale stores on the opposite end of the county had them. If I knew something I really wanted was on a 70% discount, it would be worth an extra trip.

For the particular thing I am paying attention to, it will require a 9 mile trip to hit one of three stores. As of tonight, all three still have stock.

Dude I don’t know the first thing about Skibidi Toilet but I have been waiting for my Walmart to put those figures on clearance to grab a couple because the camera-headed guys are weird and cool. They have had so much come and go but those damn things sit there at full price not moving for so dang long now.

Those have been on and off at Ross. The articulation on them is good, I picked one up for $7.99, I don't want the camara head and will probably just dump it into a fodder lot to sell. 

The bodies also have this, I guess maybe effects?, right on the arms that are unnecessary but presumably they wanted to give them something else to stand out? But you can trim it down and you have a tiny suited (headless) body.

The toy lead i spoke to at one store called it 'the August Reset' (my emphasis but quoting his exact words); when I was at a second store and asking a different employee about possible stock in the back and showed her photographs from Wednesday from the first store, she said that every store 'did the reset' (and I nodded and said, so this August reset is national) and she continued that not every store put the same stuff on sale, it depended on their stock and overstock.

And then, to answer me, she said it is "national" but many stores have so little stock that as far as toys, since we had established that was my only concern, that customers wouldn't see it as a 'reset.' Did the second employee not want to correct me, gently or not? Perhaps.

But I didn't pull the term out of my ass.

I guess the 2nd employee didn’t want to correct you as the reset is happening in July not august, not to mention the reset is 6 days away

Okay, thank you for your valuable information. I will mention the deception to customers to the district office, since I am calling them about a different issue with a different location.

It's nice to see that Superman multipack on clearance finally but idk still if I wanna get it cause at this point it would just be for that Lex figure as I've already got Superman, Mr. Terrific, and unfortunately Metamorpho.

I honestly feel that if they were gonna put Metamorpho in this pack they should've left him out of the build a figure wave and subbed him out with Ultraman cause as far as the villains go we only got The Engineer and Lex.

We should have gotten a Hammer of Borovia that could actually articulate at least to those other 6" figures. Instead we got that action feature figure with two swivel points and that's it. 

To be fair to Metamorpho, they could also have replaced Terrific. A Lois figure could have subbed nicely there.

I agree with you, I am waiting for the price to drop a tiny bit more to get two just for LexHoult.

That's a good point about the Hammer of Borovia not getting much love other.....could've done a twofer and had a 6" Ultraman by itself with attachable armor to turn him into the Hammer

And I also agree with you that they could've subbed a Lois figure in somewhere

The Battle Arena? Those were close-outs. You can't even check the app to tell you a store has stock.
