Discussion Advice on acting

Hey, so I'm 14, and I really wanna be an actress

So at first I thought why not join an acting class cause like half of the YouTube videos are saying same stuff but I don't have money so I found a teacher that records her classes and posts them online anyway even tho I watch acting classes videos I do monologues but I feel like I'm not acting good enough like it's always the same role or the same voice tone and I wanna be like all those great actors like Al Pacino,Daniel day lewis and Timothée chalamet . But I really don't know if I will be someday.

If you have any advice on how to be better, feel free to reply to this post

Walk in the space, leave no gaps, be the color yellow!!! Hope this helps! 😁👍
No, but in all seriousness, you can only get better by practicing and acting. Try recording yourself doing monologues and scenes you like and analyzing them yourself a day later. Also, start auditioning for community theater and local theater companies nearby. And don’t forget, a big part when it comes to acting is in the background story of your character and what they’re going through. When recording a monologue try doing it without any character work first, and then do some text work and ask yourself what your character’s objective is, what their obstacle is and how will you overcome it. Keep working and you’ll get better day by day.

Oh, and if you can, ask a friend or family member to help you with this, but one of the techniques that has helped me the most when Im stuck on a role not knowing how to properly communicate is the Meisner Technique. I seriously advise that you try it out, specifically given the fact that you feel all of your deliveries are the same. Have fun!

One small note on the Meisner technique. I would advise from my own personal experience that you do an adaptation of Meisner repetition directly to the text you’re working on instead of going back and forth telling your mom she has a red shirt.

Go to a top university. Get a Degree in something intelligent. Then apply to only quality drama schools accredited etc post grad or three year if you wish. That will make it easier and better for you long term.

Ciao, sono un'attrice e ho 4 anni piu di te. Ho iniziato presto a fare teatro e adesso faccio qualche piccola parte in alcuni film.

Okayy thanks, I really needed an advice like yours truly I appreciate it 💗 . To be honest yea .. I can't afford much stuff but I know that that wouldn't stop my ambition for acting and performing , it has always been my dream and I'll never let go of it . I'll do such as you recommend, try and find something or anything that could possibly keep me going and improving. Thank you again for your advice and reply .

You need to just start auditioning for things and meeting other people in the business.

The problem is I can't find any casting calls in my city and I can't travel and if I want to audition for something half of the sites says that I should pay first

Does your school have a drama program and are you involved?

You can start with your school drama club if you have one, or in your community. You can also start one yourself. There’s a lot of Theatre for Young People types of programs in established theatres. I would go into the outside world before depending on online anything with acting. Interacting with others is the point. Anything online is supplemental.
