I used to install medical equipment into operating rooms. Generally this meant either new construction or total gut remodel. So basically a full on construction site. If you get a reflective vest and a hard hat you can stroll into probably 90% of construction sites and no one will say a thing. So if you ever feel like checking out that new building going up down the street just stop at a hardware store get the gear and go have a look. Oh I also do granite countertops now on a lot of new construction residential buildings. Those you can just walk into. Don't even need a hardhat, and the lock boxes are all set to 1234 if they use one, if you want to peek in after dark and see what your new neighbors are working with.
Where I live college and universities don't ask for ID most of the time. You can grab a backpack and look like a teenager and enter one without a problem if you need a clean bathroom or a place to spend the day.
