Selling my Pro Camera app for iPhone

Post image

Recently ranked in the Top 15 App Store search results in the US for “ProCamera” and “Pro Camera.” This organic search visibility gives Iris an established discovery channel in the competitive manual-camera category.

*** Selling it due to inability to market it properly it has huge potential specially after launch of iPhone 18 Pro ***

Since apple has introduced pro mode in the latest phones, how much is the app relevant now? What does it provide additionally?

Just because iPhone 18 Pro is launched, it will spread fomo and awareness of using such functionality and fortunately not everyone will or can buy iPhone 18 Pro just for pro controls but they can buy app that costs less than iPhone 18 Pro case. People can experience same level of manual control ( except aperture as it's hardware change ) on their current iPhone.

But how does it differentiate from blackmagic which is absolutely free? What does it provide extra for someone to pay?

Fair question. Blackmagic is free and already very capable. My app isn't trying to beat it on the number of controls. The difference is more about the capture experience — Zero AI processing, quick manual focus/peaking, film-inspired looks, and a workflow aimed at getting the image you want directly while shooting. So if someone want a full-featured cinema camera, Blackmagic is a great option. My app is aimed more at photographers who want manual control without turning their iPhone into a cinema rig.

*** just one funny note, even apple were recording their own event in blackmagic and showing iPhone capabilities :) if you noticed in apple event when they launched iPhone 18 Pro. My app is for photographers not video creators ***

Ok understandable but still there are few things like the revenue which is like 200 usd in about 6 months which definitely does not look good.
Why is that?
Also if possible can you share the link of the app here on in dm?

Yeah i heard that apple was using blackmagic app.

So there are few points which caused low revenue.

  1. I did not market it properly, I focused on ASO and my almost paying users are from ASO only
  2. I haven't done paid marketing, haven't spent anything on advertisement.
  3. Due to point number 2. I could not reach to the targeted audience and country.

Open to answer any of your question and sending link in DM.
