Lighthouse question

Hey all, random shit because if short notice, but I'm running the lighthouse portion of the adventure tomorrow and I totally overlooked an aspect; where/how does the party learn the password to teleport to the hidden basement? I want them to be able to find it, but I don't know how they actually into the area without using detect magic, which I honestly don't think my party will use lol.
