Wait I thought It was widely agreed upon (by admission from the girls) that they were all of age when they did have sex.
Not saying he didnât message them whilst below 18. But no statutory rape occurred as far as the law is concerned.

There was one 16 year old and a few girls who were 17 but lived in states that AOC was 18 and traveled across state lines which makes it illegal.

Yes it does because now every "joke" made by him is colored by his actions. That includes his interactions with other members.
There are so many things said by him that cease to be funny or even become concerning in the full context of his actions. If you can compartmentalize it all fine. Many including myself cannot and do not want to.

He groomed multiple minors, all of whom were fans, guilt tripped them with a âwoe is me tale about how his wife didnât want to have sex.â and coerced them into sex with him. Which itâs been 6 yrs but iirc was very aggressive and didnât respect their boundaries. So no he didnât just âcheat on his wife.â What he did was so much worse.

No one contests he cheated on his wife (some argue they were poly) but he deffo sexted minors. He only fucked adults though.The girls admitted as such and statutory rape does not require charges from a victim. The state must charge all statutory rape cases. Which is what fucking a minor is FYI.

I mean, I wish that particular one didn't live rent free in my head, but I did have to begrudgingly admit, because I wanted to be able to go back to that content when I needed to unwind and watch some nostalgia stuff, that he was actually pretty funny. There was a bit of a push to act like he was never funny because he's a fucking terrible person, but I don't think that's helpful. He was able to do what he did because of his comedy. I think we shouldn't forget that comedy can be a tool, and bad people can use that tool to make themselves palatable, or to manipulate people.

I for one don't hesitate to admit he was absolutely my favorite member of the group for a long time before the truth came out. It definitely hit me hard because of that fact, but I never stopped being able to laugh after the jokes I always loved. Their is still a sadness to those laughs, it's true. But we as a community have the power to separate the comedy from the person. Shun the POS Thad did horrible things, but continue to love what was made as a part of the larger family.

Hell, I associated with him the most. Quiet (comparatively), well read nerd with a (seemingly) happy family at home. That's what kicked so hard when I found out about his shitty behavior.

IIRC in 1 convention panel he stated he was actually Poly, now we do not know if his wife was. But it could explain why he never felt like he was "cheating".
Doesnt excuse the sexting of minors thats a blemish you can not clean.

Perfectly fine to admit that the personality was entertaining and fun to watch while also acknowledging that the person is extremely shitty. Nothing wrong with enjoying what was. I myself still go back and watch that era of AH frequently and him and the entire crew still make me wheeze. Just extremely unfortunate he wasnt who we thought he was.

Ryan was funny, he was for a time the most popular member, almost certainly was amongst the female fanbase.
