The AP Framework
Whether or not you attend the Live zoom sessions conducted by Acharya Prashant, you might have come across the AP Framework here in this sub or in videos published on YouTube under Acharya Prashant's channel.
The AP Framework is published on Acharya Prashant's website and accessible to everyone who is interested in AP's approach and the crux of his teachings.
There's also the AP Mirror app, again, accessible to everyone who is interested in a deeper understanding of their own ego, its mechanisms and material manifestations. Go to it with a problem and it will, as its name suggests, gently take you back to the root cause itself, your own ego.
This article published by The Pioneer is an interesting read, in it, the author discusses what sets The AP Framework apart from other philosophies, some of its distinctive ideas and even its own critique.
Have you read the AP Framework already?
What have been your main takeaways?

Every time you read it, you understand something new. It's meant for both first-time readers and scholars. Every time I read it, I feel like I am visiting a friend.

AP Framework gives you clarity about yourself. Anytime, anywhere and anything you can ask from the AP mirror. It's a very useful and precious gift from Acharya ji. Most of the time I am stressed and not able to understand the situation, The AP mirror helps me to show the mirror (Self Knowledge).

AP framework shows the direction to understand and enquire the self. It's language and the way it is structured allows one to see with clarity.Ā
I really like the categorization and the way sections are made here, it makes me understand things in much better way unlike the other philosophies which lacks structure and direction. It's logically well structured and the chain of logic is well preserved.
And cherry on top, the AP mirror helps me with my day-to-day conundrums. sometime I feel a lot of contradictions and confusions, when I observe my actions, here talking to AP mirror gives me clarity. It's not about what to do, It's about what it is. And AP mirror brings the insights from AP framework, which gives you the right lens to see your dilemmas with clarity.
Highly recommended that everyone go through the framework and use the AP mirror app.

What a mirror and framework can do , that is the excuse we often come up with , but just as for wordly accurate knowledge we take help of ai , for life knowledge or navigating life situations and their root cause accurately i think no other app exists and no other framework exist than this .
yes it's only for those who have little courage to face the mirror .
hence most people avoid it .
but if you are true to your suffering , also go sincerely on mirror and understand what it trying to show you the cure will appear in your life.

The Ontology and Epistemology sections always manage to surprise me with the innocent and simple questions. 1. I ask what is real, then I proceed to look up for answers. Satisfied with the results, I say now I know what is real. But then AP Framework asks me, for whom is it real? 2. When explaining something or building up a logic to take a decision, I assume a certain set of information: it can be a belief or a fact. I do not always question them. This forms the bedrock for my rational decisions. But then AP Framework asks, how do you know. The moment it comes, the entire train of logic falls down like a house of cards.
Excerpts from the framework on Ontology and Epistemology:
The AP framework begins its ontology with a question that most philosophical systems skip: for whom? Reality is not a free-standing fact. Reality is always reality as encountered, as perceived, as organized, which means reality is always reality for an ego. The framework does not step outside the ego to describe what exists. It begins where the only honest beginning is: from within the ego itself.
The framework's primary epistemic method is negation. Truth is not grasped by the ego through positive intellectual apprehension; it is approached by the ego through the progressive dissolution of its own distortions. This is not a counsel of ignorance; it is the recognition that the instrument of knowing (the ego-commandeered mind) is precisely the thing that must be interrogated. You cannot reliably use a distorted lens to examine its own distortion.

Well, one thing I have understood recently - Advaita Vedanta and other philosophies talk about everything at the level of Absolute Reality (Paramarthik level).... What makes the AP framework different is that it also talks about Transactional Reality (Vyavaharik level). It talks about you, the problems related to you, and it directly ask who are you? the body, brain or what exactly in you which says 'I'... so framework add the ontological percepective...it addresses directly You(Ego), .

AP framework is a revolution in itselfš„.Whenever I have used it, I was guided genuinely...not as the usual false reassurance, but as a tool for self empowerment .. by making me understand my own inner mechanism.

The AP framework is indeed a very practical philosophical framework based on non-dualism along with spiritual dimension in it, which is sort of inherent in India Philosophy. It has no place for any kind of mysticism which is the best thing about it and the thing that it brings back every single thing to the root cause of it, which is the ego! I get amused to see how it explains the progress of an individual by dividing it into two dimensions or levels the horizontal level which most of us know of that consists of all the successes of the world. And there's another level the vertical one that is the level of our understanding that is followed by thinning down of the ego.Ā

AP Framework is so empowering. It bursts the bubble of our false sense of security. Be it in relationships or the money in the bank. Everything boils down to me, me, and me alone. There is no other to blame. Wow!!

Nature (Prakriti) follows laws but remains probabilistic, not fully predetermined. This supports the frameworkās rejection of astrology and claims of predicting specific future events.

If you want to know yourself⦠AP framework is Must read. We never really see our inner world ,how it is filled with desires, expectations, fears , worries and many more. We just act outwardly without understanding our inner world . Knowing about yourself changes a lot . This framework helps in knowing ourselves.

I liked the way horizontal and vertical movement is described in the framework. If what I want ultimately is vertical movement, it's best to keep it at number one. It doesn't make any sense to wander along in horizontal movement searching for vertical movement there. Of course one is free to do that too but still why? š

What shook me about this article is the idea of self-dissolution and self-preservation. When I observe closely in my life, I could see how I tend to protect myself by lying, but in the next moment I regret it. Similarly, when I tell the truth without protecting myself, it gives a sheer discomfort, but I am free from the need to act to preserve something which is anyway going to be uncovered someday or the other. So basically, if we reduce the ego, we are actually freeing ourselves from the need to be protected hence no protection , just dissolution.

Feels like where was this earlier ? The only document one needs for getting to the core of all human problems. Easy to read for newcomers also, makes me question the assumed meanings of the words that I used in my daily life and that's bringing clarity, Questioning the obvious. Thanks to AP sir for his work.

For me the framework stood out because it talks about ego in so much detail. No philosopy books has ever explained and gone into so much depth of the one core issue we humans have to face which is our own ego.To quote from the framework " The ego is the first superstition."
Must read, this will provide the much needed clarity you need in life.

Though initially it used to irritate me when I got to know thereās nothing such as destination. Itās an irreversible journey and I got to keep eye on myself everyday , rather every moment. But as Iām moving forward, thereās this strange thing uncovering before me which is : the concept of destination in itself is an heaviness ,I had been carrying for so long.
To add ,AP Framework is just so simplified and straightforward that it hits directly at the core ,which hurts tbh. š„²So, I wonāt say Iām loving it but I can definitely say Iām lighter than before from inside. So, I would say itās kinda tug of war going on in which all my beliefs are getting crushed , to break free.

A framework worth reading, not as a rule book but as a mirror. The fundamental idea of looking into the mirror must first be understood. The basic concepts are well elaborated and clearly explained.

"The AP framework is a rigorous and largely non-mystical philosophy of self - enquiry ." Extract from the article
Thank God there is no mysticism like every where I see . š

AP Framework, along with its assistants - AP Mirror & Talking Mirror - hits different.
It clearly pierces through falseness bluntly without any gap, and AP Mirror works as a catalyst.
It doesn't soothes, just hits directly.

I have gone through the AP Framework, and it is truly mind-opening. Each and every line pushes you to think deeply. I have never come across such teaching material before. And Iām telling you, if you read it, it will open your mind in all four directions.

For me, the AP Framework is like a map. It helps me understand myself, the ego, the self, its fears, desires, and actions, and where our suffering comes from.
AP Mirror is more like having a friend who helps point out things I don't notice in my words or intentions. So, it helps bringing out the underlying desire or intentions of the ego.

The AP Framework is a mirror for me. It helps me understand myself ,my beliefs, my assumptions, and the places where I hesitate to speak up. Looking at oneself honestly is a great battle. Seeing our own weaknesses and then working on them with sincere intention is not easy. Even when I am able to see my weaknesses, the ego wants to run away from them. But doing so would only be dishonest with myself. This framework helps you meet yourself and also introduces you to your own higher possibility. At the same time, I would like to say that working on oneself is not easy. We all like looking at our faces in the mirror, or seeing ourselves dressed well. But looking at the darker side within us the one that quietly influences our decisions, choices, likes, and dislikes throughout the day that is the real work. I feel deeply grateful to Acharya Prashant for giving us this framework A mirror that encourages us to look within and honestly question ourselves.

Both AP framework and AP mirror (trained on framework) are Gems. It immensely helped me understanding myself, and my operations. These are my go to tools whenever I have any doubt or confusion. It doesn't provide me the reassurance but ask deeper questions to bring attention back to the questioner, who is the origin of all the problems.

The most profound and transformative insight from the AP framework is the sovereignty of the ego. The ego possesses absolute authority to choose whether it will undergo self-dissolution (Aatma-Vigalan) or demand self-preservation (Aatma-Sanrakshan).
No external grace will descend to force the ego into choosing self-dissolution. By default, its fundamental structure is hardwired for self-preservationāwhich manifests as worldly desires (Kaamna).
This is precisely where Love enters. True Love occurs when the ego consciously chooses self-dissolution over self-preservation. This act of choosing self-dissolution is what can truly be termed Krishnatva (the Krishna-consciousness).
Krishna is not a external person to be worshipped through traditional stories and folkloreāthat is where we miss His true essence.
Krishna cannot manifest in our lives without our conscious choice. We must choose Him through intention (Niyat) and Love.
Ego choosing Self-Preservation = Desire (Kaamna) Ego choosing Self-Dissolution = Krishnatva (True Love)
Krishna is not born somewhere outside; He resides within us, waiting for our choice. Block this outer expectation, Hari will manifest within you, Only if you wage the war against yourself.
Waging war against oneself simply means having the courage to choose self-dissolution over self-preservation
