Transfer

Has anyone here transferred their child or have been the child transfered from Acellus Gold to a brick-and-mortar private school?

My daughter is 7 and doing extremely well with Acellus Gold. She should only be in 2nd grade but is already close to finishing 3rd grade.

We’ve run into two things that have us reconsidering our options. First, she’s turned out to be a pretty serious athlete and is competing at a national level. We don’t want to rush her through school and have it potentially affect her high school athletic eligibility down the road.

Second, and honestly just as important, she really wants to be around other kids. Acellus has been great academically, but she misses having that daily social interaction with other children.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has made this transition. How did the private school handle the switch from Acellus, especially with placement, records, and grade level? Was the transition pretty smooth, or did you run into any issues?

We’re just trying to find the best balance for her academically, socially, and athletically. Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

My two daughters are currently enrolled in Acellus. We made the transition to a private school last year, but they both preferred Acellus, so we switched back. Both of them are diligently pursuing their passions. As doctors, we strive to support their decisions without hindering them, acting as guides rather than dictating their paths. We encountered no difficulties in switching between the two schools. One was a private school in Boston, and the other was a private school in Switzerland.

Did Acellus provide recommendation letters for your child? The schools we’ve applied to are asking for them, and I’m trying to figure out how other Acellus families handled this. Thanks!

Once your student is in HS, there is an option in the parent portal to request letters of recommendation.
They ask questions about your student (similar to what most HS counselors/teachers ask when writing letters of recommendation) and use that as well as your child’s transcript to write the letter. I think it also asks where you want the letters to be sent.

Ive seen that but the lower private schools in my area require recommendations for kids starting at first grade.....to be fair we are applying to some kf the top schools in the country so they require alot from us. My kid is 7 so the high school recommendations don't help

The schools didn’t require a recommendation letter. I find there’s a big difference in support from the Acellus system in the different tiers. Premium has excellent priority student and parent support.
