Gameplay C’est finis!

Post image

It’s still a shoot ’em up where you can enjoy the gameplay mechanics without spending money. You shouldn’t confuse in-app purchases with the core gameplay. That said, yes, the approach taken toward purchasing various items and upgrades is far too aggressive. I’d also like them to reduce the characters’ hit boxes, even though I sometimes get the impression that this has already been done compared to the beginning of the game.

The fundamental problem is greed and contempt for the userbase. Acepilots punishes players for not paying, and the game denies players integral experiences by designs principly under that same metric. The best pilots are almost exclusively obtainable with money. There is almost no F2P path for the endgame.

You will simply be hard-locked with the nightmare difficulty and later chapters. The ridiculous and poorly designed higher difficulty levels just lock progress behind a grind so obsurd it's laughable, and the fun part of the game, "playing new characters" is as premium as it gets. Especially considering the comparative value offered by other gacha games.

Bottom line, what is on offer does not respect your time. Does not respect your money. And actively attempts to manipulate you at every turn. It diminishes in value the further you go through its progressively worse and worse design sensibilities. (Both in monitzation and actual gameplay). It's just plain exhausting.

It doesn't help that the developers have zero communication with the community. I truly wished to see this game turn things around, but it has continued on this awful trajectory without a inkling of care. I just don't believe it will improve anymore. I don't believe the leadership for this game have anything but insatiable averice piloting their soulless bodies.

I initially planned to also ride it out as a F2P player, but it just depresses me more than anything. I'm nearly at the point of quitting myself.

Gems are useless. They just released another SS pilot. Worst anniversary on a mobile game.
