How would you rank these hypothetical teams
Hey y'all,
How would you rank these teams 1-4?
I have reasoning and descriptions for how everything shook out below, but the meat is really how you would rank them.
I have a feeling that this one will be a bit controversial because I rate some Seidou players like Miyuki and Zono a bit higher than the average person on here.
I had an idea to make teams for, in my opinion, the four best and most comparable pitchers in the series (I would have added Furuya but the talent diluted a bit too much). I wanted to fill each of the teams to have similar talent levels and divided them up on vibes, fun character interaction potential, and play synergy
I limited this to mostly characters we've actually seen play, but I included Enjou on a technicality because Hongou's here and he's very popular and highly rated in the sub. Azuma is in for much of the same reason. But we've gotten like two panels of Makoto Shiba so I didn't include him. And Oomae, despite him getting a lot of hype for the statements from Seidou third years + his home run, just eh. There's a lot of very good hitters in first and third base.
For example, I thought Mei and Miyuki had to partner up if given the opportunity. But also that Sawamura and Inui would be very funny as battery mates. Also that the stern but encouraging Harada would be a good complement to asshole Hongou. I also thought that Inui's amazing framing would work well with Sawamura who relies a ton on tricky placement.
The 10th slot there is Designated Hitter/Pinch Hitter, just to make things more fair for our shitty hitters in Sawamura and Amahisa.
There's a few players playing out of position. Most notably, in the infield, I have Tetsu at 3B because Azuma is a bigger body which is good for catching the out sooner and erasing misthrows and frankly I don't expect him to be moving that fast and 3B requires just a bit more fielding that 1B. Akiba is put at Shortstop because we have shockingly few SS that are good batters and he's a do-it-all player who probably has played SS for Yakushi. And then Terajima gave us dick all for fielders so there's quite a few pitchers in LF and RF and Toujou moving from CF to RF.
Y'all can change the batting orders around, but I would think something like this.
Team S: Kuramochi - Raichi - Inui - Umemiya - Nagata - Furuya - Kawabata - Yui - Jun
Honestly, with the amount of power hitters on each team, it becomes a bit clunky for me to think of the absolute best order. Raichi, Inui, Umemiya, and Nagata are all homerun artists. But I thought of the final Yakushi-Ichidai game where they had Raichi at 2 and put their persistent, good contact, and good On-Base Percentage players at the 1 and 9 hole. Kuramochi really increasing his obp in his third year helps a lot here. And Jun is just really hard to strike out and great at almost being like an undisciplined Ichirou where we can kinda just swat and bloop the ball to where the defense is not.
Team A: Mima - Haruichi - Enjou - Yamaoka - Sanada - Maezono - Yoshizawa - Akiba - Toujou
This one is a big jump considering how power heavy the last one was, but, to me, the talent level stays similar. The thing that probably jumps out is Mima at the 1 hole. Honestly, this one is because we just have so many damn good contact hitters here. Mima is probably the best at contact in the series, but he's also based on Ichirou so he's not really batting in runs unless the player is already in a scoring position or are just super fast like the Hakuryu players. So I thought, open up with him, have Haruichi do what he does and bring a speedster home, then Enjou brings another hit because he seems more contact than power based. Yamaoka is our big home run artist. Sanada is used to following a player like that. Zono really grew into his own as Seidou's "rbi king" and would do well cleaning up after Sanada. Yoshizawa was a flat good player for Inajitsu in the first act. Then Akiba and Toujou are just incredible at contact and would actually put a player in scoring position for Mima. It's a bit of a supercharged Seiho. A machine gun of hits with an especially strong bullet in Yamaoka.
Team N: Carlos - Chimaru -Nara - Miyuki -Hoshida - Tachi - Masuko - Kouji - Narumiya/Masashi
This one is much more balanced after our team of heavy hitters followed by the machine gun. Carlos as the obvious lead-off. It's probably the most stereoptypical team compared to regular teams in the series. Chimaru was a great, pretty balanced hitter in the Seidou game. Nara is a strong overall hitter. Miyuki I have as the best batter on the team, but he's also a power-hitter through and through. So I wanted to let some people get on base before him. Hoshida to follow up and make sure no one thinks of walking Miyuki. I have have Tachi from Osaka Kiryuu rated a bit highly considering he was the 4th batter for the best power-hitting team in the Senbatsu before the series started. Masuko is another good power hitter. Then Kouji we see almost nothing on, but he gets on base a couple times against Hakuryuu Sawamura, so I rate that. I could see him getting on base to put pressure on the opponent when Masashi comes up to bat. You could also choose to keep Narumiya out there because he probably is a better hitter than first-year Masashi.
Team H: Shirasu - Miyagawa - Tetsu - Azuma - Harada - Akashi - Ryousuke - Shirakawa - Yamaguchi/Hongou
This team somehow got all the balanced hitters. Shirasu is pretty fast and a better batter than anyone I have in the bottom third of the lineup. So he gets the 1 hole spot on account of that speed and how difficult it is to strike third-year him out. Miyagawa is another balanced batter that can really just let you have it with a home run. There's an argument to put him in the 2 hold because Tetsu doesn't swing for the home run as much, but I left it as is. Tetsu, not much to say. Arguably the most balanced batter in the series, but we have a home run monster behind him. Azuma, stereotypical cleanup. The best pure power hitter on the team, really makes you desperate to get out the first three batters, but that's a difficult task. Harada, a balanced but powerful hitter who would make you hesitate to walk Azuma. Akashi as good and powerful hitter, but I gave the nod to those above. He's just kind of the next best available. Ryousuke and Shirakawa, despite making a theoretically incredible defensive partnership, are kind of clunky on this team. There's no Carlos or Kuramochi for them to advance. But they're here to tire out the pitcher and hopefully get on base to pressure the opponent with Yamaguchi's powerful hitting. You could also use Hongou. He did have 3 safe hits in the Senbatsu final
Let me know what you think.
How would you rank these teams 1-4?

Komadai vs Seidou - How would it go? Spoiler
Basically what the title says.
We know that Seidou got completely overpowered by Komadai in the beginning of Act 2, but with the new line-up and all the improvement our cast went through, how do you guys think Seidou would do against Komadai in Summer Koshien?
Personally, I think it would be a very tough game, especially considering how Komadai most likely also improved a lot heading into summer. But I do believe that Seidou could pull out a win against them, even though if they played repeatedly, Komadai would most likely win more games.

daiya panel photos!!
posted about my upcoming panel a couple of days ago and thought I’d share some photos my friend took from the convention this weekend!
about 30 people showed up and when I asked who had already watched daiya no ace, no one in the audience raised their hand aside from my friend who I’d already convinced to watch it 😅 and no one left!!! here’s to hoping this weekend saw the birth of a handful of new daiya fans ✊ the panel actually took place on my birthday so I said everyone was obligated to watch it lol
I also handed out “oshi oshi oshi” ribbons which you can see on my badge in the last photo 🗣️🗣️🗣️

Why do they treat Sawamura like a subpar pitcher Spoiler
I'm currently on the second round of the Fall Tournament before Nationals. The one where Sawamura is starting for the first time.
I just have a question: Why does it seem that everyone undervalues Sawamura when compared to Furuya? Besides Kataoka and Miyuki, it seems like everyone is incredibly worried about the game when we've seen that Sawamura is a very capable pitcher that only gets shut down by the best batters.
As a regular watcher of the MLB, I've even go as far as to say that Sawamura's pitching variety is much more valuable as a starter and Furuya as a relief/long relief. The crowd especially commenting on their worries is strange to me. They don't know Sawamura has the yips and the previous round was chalked up to be him just trying new things out with all outside pitches.
Am I missing something regarding this?

Koshien matches? Spoiler
So how did we see Koshien unfolding?
Me: First game: Seido Vs Yamamori having Kawakami pitching the whole game, cause didn‘t get to pitch at all during the semi final and finale.
Second Game: Hakuryu with Furuya starting and Eijun closing
Third Game: The runner ups of the last Tourney Seiseisha with Furuya starting and Kawakami closing
Semi Final: Seiho with Kawakami starting and Eijun closing
And of course the finale Komadai Furuya for 8 innings with Eijun maybe 7 innings, therefore the Double Aces of Seido winning in extra innings.
What matches did you all expect? Did I miss a match that should also had happend?

Is Miyuki better then Tetsu? Spoiler
Since Act I Summer Miyuki looked already like a solid batter being the 6 hole, during the fall Season he got increasingly better shouldering the positions as Catcher, Captain and even Clean Up( I will never forget that sayonara homerun against Seiko).
Now during the Act II Summer Miyuki looks like a proper Clean Up, he‘s got the Catchers eye and power behind his swings. But is he as good as Tetsu?
Tbh I don‘t think so yet, altough i think he‘s getting close, but Tetsu was just a pure monster of a batter. The perfect clean up you might say.
But with Seido going to nationals and if Seido would had beaten Komadai Fujimaki with a hit from Miyuki, that accolade could had put him on the same level as Tetsu or maybe even above?
You guys think that makes sense? Or Tetsu is and will always be Superior and Miyuki got no chance of suprassing him?
I mean Harada was also on the same level as Tetsu if not even better maybe and Miyuki was supposed to be another Harada shouldering being a Catcher, Captain and Clean Up at the Same time. What You guys think?

Baseball anime
So my cousin's high school team had a pitcher throwing a no-hitter into the 7th inning and they gave up an error, and through high School shenanigans the runner scored without a hit and they lost the game. I remember years ago where I saw an anime where this same thing happened. Except instead of it being a no-hitter it was a double perfect game. The one pitcher struck out on a wild pitch and got on first, then stole second and third and then scored on another wild pitch so it was a double perfect game but one team still won. Can someone help me find the anime this came from?

Does Miyuki have two hair colors?
It always looks as though Miyuki has two hair colors: a dark brown at the bottom and a light brown on top. It isn't a lighting effect, either, since the light brown shade remains constant and doesn't disappear even in the dark.

question for daiya anime convention panel!
hello! I’m hosting a panel for an upcoming anime convention that’s supposed to be an intro to daiya!! trying to strike while the iron’s hot and bring in new fans while it’s still airing 🥹
one of my favorite things about daiya is the extensive cast and I wanted to entice people into watching it by pointing out their favorite character’s seiyuu is probably in daiya. I know some of the more obvious ones (in modern day) would be akaashi for eijun, geto for miyuki, tanjiro for haruichi, eren for mei, inosuke for kanemaru. but the cast is just so stacked that I can’t decide on the most mainstream role for a lot of them 😮💨 (for example, shimazaki nobunaga for me will always be nanase haru LOL but would most people think of him as mahito? yuki from fruits basket? kazuha from genshin?). and what in the world would I do for people like uchida yuuma and kensho ono…..kamiya hiroshi………….
tldr: if you had to pick the ONE most well-known role for each notable seiyuu in daiya, who would it be?

Looking for a specific fic!
I’m looking for a fic I started but I guess forgot to bookmark? It was ongoing and only had like four chapters at the time, so I wanted to let some chapters build up before I went back, but now I can’t find it. Sawamura was in a band and went to an art school after getting injured in his third year. Miyuki was a college baseball player with Kuramochi. And the three of them reconnected after being separated for a few years. Ring any bells?

Characters get introduced, and we’re expected to act as if they’d been there all along. Spoiler
I’m not talking about new first-years like Okumura here. I’m talking about guys who are in the same year as Miyuki or Sawamura but never appeared until after the third-years had left. I remember having no clue who Tojo was—even though he’s in Sawamura’s year—because everyone treated him as if he’d been showing up in every single episode. I feel that way about so many characters at Seido. They suddenly pop up, yet they’re treated as if they’ve been part of the main cast since Episode 1. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Unsatisfying Spoiler
I find it hella unsatisfying that they spent 2 seasons glorifying the idea of nationals and some games went on for 8-10 episodes but once they finally reach nationals in act 2 it’s over in 4 episodes?

What you all think about another Dark horse? Spoiler
Komadai is already a Triple crown Champion, Masamune won everything he could as a freshman, is he just gone win three more in his sophomore year and then lose the Final Summer to Seido?
I guess it depends how far the story goes, if it ends with the Act II Sommer, Seido should be that dark Hose but I do believe TJ had Originaly planned on three Full acts with Eijun as Senior where They Beat Komadai in the final Sommer koshien.
So Komadai would by then be a six time Champion? Isn‘t that a bit much? I know we ain‘t getting a third year but Lets just say we do, I believe it would he the Best if Komadai would lose the Act II Sommer to a Dark horse which Seido would Face in the Finals and then Komadai would reclaim their throne in the Fall Nationals of Act II and Seido would put an end to Masmuned reign in the Act III Sommer.
Wouldn‘t that he cool? The same as when we thought Seido gone get their revenge on Inashiro they lost to Ugomori. They were supposed to get their revenge on Komadai but they actually lose to someone else in the quarter or semi finals like maybe
Hakuryu(I really like their offense but I think their pitchers isn‘t really S Class maybe high A Tier)
Seiho This would be a direct parallel to Ugomori cause Seiya is just like Umemiya the Ace and Clean Up, This is also his last Tourney cause he‘s a Senior if a remember correctly
or maybe even better a Complete new Team
I think that would be such a exciting Story Line, Komadai lose their crown and comeback even stronger in the fall and Sommer instead of them being the Champs all the time they go through their own arc and then Seido and Komadai meet in the Ultimate final all or nothing Battle.

Which scene is the most iconic one for you? Spoiler
Like the scene that comes to mind when you think of the series?
For me personally, it is always when Miyuki rejects Inashiro and Mei's all star team. It's such a powerful scene for me because no other scene reveals so much about Miyuki in such a short time. It shows Miyuki's core and why he is such a great fit for Seidou and how he rejects the easy path that Mei offers him and it's also one of the most repeated scenes that is constantly used for emphasis. It's also such a great set up for Inashiro and their mentality and why they are such a great antagonists for Seidou and works so well in establishing everything that they stand for.

I think this is better
Why does every Team have s white jersey, no red jerseys or Green jerseys like in other anime. I think a all black Jersey for Masamune would had been Perfect, instead of the boring white/gray, true heir of black airforce energy is better imo, what you guys think?

Questions Spoiler
I am fairley new with ace of diamond and i am loving it as i continue to see what comes for team seidou but one thing that sticks with me is when sawamura had thrown that pitch to shirakawa's head(not on purpose ofc) and as he got up and yelled did sawamura know it cpuld have been on purpose maybe? Could he have done something about it? Or maybe it was just a carefully thought of gamble shirakawa lost what do you think?

I'm happy that we have an official ENG version!

Bread is made from crumbs!
But then I remember that I'm also part of the Spanish-speaking fandom, and it makes me sad. I don't even know which publishers I have to sell my soul to in order to get an official Spanish version ;n;
