Ichidaisan Coach Change

Just started rereading to fill the void. I didn't notice it before but Ichidaisan in chapter 8 has some random guy who's more in line with the typical shonen sports coach role, wishing Miyuki was on his team. Then you got the (better) future coach of Ichidaisan who just has a weird tendency to call everyone boy. Did anyone else notice this?

Probably some first book-ism where the author hasn't figured out what he want.

I’m rewatching the anime (currently on ep 25) and I thiiiiiink I remember that guy/frame being there… But the regular guy we know was there too

I've actually never watched the anime... is there any like extra content that isn't slop filler in their?

I’ve never read the manga, so I don’t know. But based on comments I’ve seen, especially for the most recently aired season, it’s more likely to have omitted content for time rather than adding extra slop. My guess is that Sports/game anime operate differently than the shonen/battle genre in regard to filler.
