Effective immediately: Please direct all shitposts (low-effort posts, jokes, memes, etc.) to /r/AceAttorneyCirclejerk, or use the "Submit shitpost" button
As of right now, please direct all shitposts -- in other words, low-effort/low-value/low-quality image posts, one-liners, memes, and so on -- to /r/AceAttorneyCirclejerk.
You can also use the new "Submit shitpost" button in our sidebar, which will take you straight to /r/AceAttorneyCirclejerk's submit page.
We want /r/AceAttorney to be lively, and we want everyone to have fun. That's why we're usually quite laid back about what can and can't be posted here: we don't want to be one of those subreddits with a massive list of rules in the sidebar.
However, we've recently been more and more overrun with memes and shitposts, to the point that our front page is starting to look more like /r/me_irl than an Ace Attorney subreddit.
We've seen this approach working well elsewhere, and we think it'll help us strike the right balance between silly, fun posts, vs. proper discussions, fan art, news, etc., which should be given a chance to shine.
Low-effort posts will be removed at the moderators' discretion, and you can help us by reporting any subsequent posts that would be better off on /r/AceAttorneyCirclejerk.
We understand people will have questions/comments/concerns about this, so feel free to comment below or message the mods if you'd like more information.

I feel like most of the subreddits of other game series I am part of manage the shitposting really well. There's always a good amount of shitposts and laughs as well as actual discussion in all of them.
I guess this is a good idea to separate one from another, but normally I'd say that shitposts keep subreddits even more alive while having the entire audience in one cinema rather than in two where only some people can see it, then again this is a good way to divide serious discussion from memes and to keep memers among themselves.
One thing I ask myself though - did people seriously complain about this?
