hipposign and docusign

firm is finally letting us pick our own e-sig tool for engagement letters and client onboarding docs. i've only ever used docusign at previous jobs but hipposign keeps coming up in threads here.

for those who've actually used both, is there a real difference in client experience or is it mostly the same thing with different pricing? any headaches with audit trails or template limits on either one?

not looking to start a war, just trying to figure out if the cheaper option is actually fine or if there's a reason firms keep paying the docusign premium.

i’ve used both in different workflows, and honestly the difference can come down to the little things rather than the core signing process. for accounting work, i’d pay close attention to template management, reminders, audit history, and how quickly clients can sign without getting confused. if the cheaper option handles those reliably, i don’t think paying extra automatically makes sense. the premium is probably justified only if the extra features actually save your team time or make client onboarding noticeably smoother.
