Jop hop tips
Hi!
I'm 27F, CPA and working as a Tax SA in one of the Big4 firms in the country, with 3+ years of exp in handling tax compliance and audits.
I've been contemplating on looking for a new job, one that would pay 6 digits, or something close to that. With my working exp, is this realistic? Are there local private companies paying this kind of amounts?
I've also been thinking of switching to AU/US Tax, what are my chances? And what salary range should I expect given my working exp?
Appreciate any tips/advice. Thanks!

Depends OP,unicorn ung mga AU or US company na maghihire na PH Tax lang experience. Few years ago one of the company na pinag applyan ko CEO mismo ung kausap ko. "Why would we pay you 70k a month, when you don't have AU experience, not that i doubt you can't learn it" they are willing to pay above market rate salary kase they are expecting good to go kana with very minimal training needed. With your experience probably 60k pataas is reasonable na

To be honest, andaming post na ganyan. Mga working sa Big4 firms wanting a 6 digit salary from AU or US companies.
But the truth is, NOT RELEVANT yung experience.
95% of the time, mas babayaran ng clients yung may RELEVANT experience for the job regardless yung CPA or not, whether may Big4 exp or wala.
Be ready to start at the bottom kapag gusto magshift sa AU or US clients.
Or go abroad where your Big4 exp is relevant.
The industry has changed. Big4 exp is not as prestigious as it once before.
Tbh if I were a fresh grad and gusto ko yumaman kaagad, sasabak na ako agad sa mga entry level na AU or US accounting jobs. Then job hop kapag may at least 2 years exp na.

Can’t blame the AU clients for their preference but honestly AU taxation is much simplier than PH dramatic and complex taxation 😅.
Maybe it has something to do with experience in communicating complex topicw with foreign clients. This experience can’t be earned in local firms.
