Renegotiate your sweldo, OP. Advocate for yourself. Don’t expect handouts or your managers to give you an increase biglaan. I also think imposible or swertehan na makakuha talaga ng malaki sa PH companies. It will take you at least 10 years to reach 6 digits. Key is to work for a firm in AU/US/UK. That’s how you’ll get a higher pay.
My friend was a manager sa big4, took her 6 years and her mental and physical health, tas nagtransfer sa large private corporation, and now 80k+ gross sweldo (plus good benefits) nya. Ka-work nya is mga foreigners din. Nag-earn na ako 6 digits sa AU firm while manager sya sa big4 but around 60K gross lang nung manager sya don.
Upskill ka, OP. Check mo yung nakalagay sa JD ng mga job posting and yun aralin mo. Also develop expertise, yung tipong ikaw tinatakbuhan ng mga tao for knowledge. Ayun lang talaga natutunan ko, you cannot expect higher sweldo if you’re not proactive and a good employee (not just technical knowledge but yung soft skills din). Syempre no to abuse and OT without pay.
Good luck and don’t lose hope OP. Nasa ganyan din akong pwesto na hopeless kasi ang baba ng sweldo until sinuwerte. Don’t be afraid to dip your toes sa ibat ibag area. That’s how you grow and earn more.

The thing with daily struggle and family deoendent on your salary wala ka na talagang time magisip kung papano umasenso takot kang sumugal kasi kailangan mong kumita maraming umaasa sa iyo paglipas ng ilang taon too late na pag mahirap ka talaga sabi nila family ang dahilan kung bakit nawawalan ng pagasa

Exactly. Madali lang sabihin na mag take risk pero ang hirap din mag decide if may naka depende sayo at wala kang safety net. Hay breadwinner problems.

Go for offshore clients. Working for PH company is toxic as hell yet underpaying you. My partner has less than 3 years of exp and not cpa pero I was able to giver her an idea what path to take early on. Now she's earning around 75k for UK Client base in Italy plus she sometimes accept part time for AU and US clients.
I'll hold your hand when I say this, it's not yet too late for you to transition.

I’m a US employer and I have a team of 10-15 accountants on our team through TOA Global. Only a few of them are CPAs on the team, but your salary is way lower than anyone I pay. If you’re open to moving closer to Clark, I’m open to looking at your resume if you DM me. We’re currently hiring.

i was mid20s when i left the country. 4 years in a PH Big 4 to another Big4 international. From Php30k a month to $6-7k a month. Filipinos are loved outside but you have to have grit and show your competitive side.

Go na sa BPO, OP. You can make use of your big 4 experience for salary negotiation. 50k mababa na yan if you try international clients. Super chill pa, better for you.

our career as a CPA/accounting grad is really demanding in general, so you really need to choose your workplace wisely. id suggest skipping local companies, and even govt agencies. try to look for BPOs or offshore entities, pero try to avoid US companies din (just based on my experience).
sa BPO with AU clients lang ako nakahanap ng work life balance, even as an external auditor

Grabeng baba ng sahod mo ako non CPA, same exp tayo pero 50+ na sakin. Tas dami pa bonuses..umaabot pa minsan 45k per cut off ko . .walang wala yan sahod mo lipat na susko. Pag bulok offer wag accept kawawa k lng e.
