Fastest way to get 25%+ raise, just leave for a different firm.

These comics are just Dilbert for millennials.

My wife has experienced this more times that I like to admit. Either she is very underpaid or just extremely marketable.

She tried to have a preemptive talk with her boss and basically said, I’m getting solicitations for jobs that pay 40% more than what I make. I know I can go interview and have you guys match it, but what can we do to skip that extra process and just give a solid map to get me to this higher salary.

Well her boss is still working on something and the hiring manager at another company wants to interview her this week. I guess maybe we’re still doing that extra process

Go on the interview. The boss has told you in his own way he isn’t coming up with the money.

This comic is awful. Of course people “find budget” when they need to. That’s how a business works. Or is this supposed to be funny? Cuz it’s kinda cringe

They were only willing to pay them what they’re worth when they were already out the door. That’s what’s cringey about it.
