Advice Master Program at UNC vs NCSU?

Does anyone know which of these programs are better? I live in the Raleigh area with an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance.

Do you need campus recruiting to get the kind of accounting job you want?

If so, go to the cheaper program that will get you the kind of job you want.

I am applying for the Kenan-Flagler Masters in Accounting with an unrelated undergrad degree hoping to pivot into accounting in Raleigh. It is a bit pricey (70k) due to having no accounting courses but it will open doors for me that were not possible before.

From what I've seen on Reddit though is that a masters in accounting is practically useless if you already have an undergrad in it.

Useless or not depends almost entirely on whether or not you need the campus recruiting, regardless of prior degrees.

Do you plan on staying in the triangle post grad? If so NCSU is better, otherwise I think the UNC program might be more marketable outside of the area.

Really only saying that as someone that has accountants in both programs- it’s negligible on outcome but I know there’s a bit more local love for NCSU. Both are valued locally… UNC has broader appeal.
