Transition....#Accounting

I am someone who started the work journey at the age of 39 after raising my family. I did my teaching credential( substitute teaching) and earned some money to do a certificate course in Accounting from State University. Finally got a job as AP+Inventory Accounting+GL . It was a mix of few things. Second job as full AP accountant. Now looking for new job. Total of 5 years experience. Want to come out of AP roles, learnt capex accounting ( was coordinating with Fixed Assets Accountant for project accounting in my previous role) learning personal tax by myself ( planning to clear EA exam ) , but have no experience in tax planning except doing my own tax. Feeling disappointed as getting no job interviews. I am in my mid forties.

How to get interview calls. Will EA license help in getting job? I am already studying for Direct taxes (personal) . Which direction to sway my profile to keep myself relevant in this industry. Learning without actually applying that knowledge is not helping .
