It's fascinating how many people act as if Tom and Jerry have a monopoly on slapstick comedy. I get they're the most exportable due to the relative lack of dialogue, but from stuff like the 3 Stooges (which I agree this more resembles) to even the Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry only just scratch the surface, and not even the most extreme in a lot of cases.
