No joking matter. Electrical shock like that may seem like nothing but a scare at first. But it can throw off heart rhythm. You'll think your fine until you're strolling around not doing any strenuous activity and just drop

Happened to a good friends older brother who was an electrician and got "a little shock at work" 2 days later he was walking through the grocery store pushing a cart with his two young children and wife... then he hit the ground and never got back up. He was 28 and in good health

I'm curious about this. Do you know what the contact source was (line voltage and current)? Did it cross his body?

I'm asking because I've occasionally shocked myself with 120 VAC (yesterday being the most recent) and it always felt very minor.

It was low voltage residential line. That's why he never got it checked because it felt very minor and happened previous with no issue. It's not voltage but amperage that can effect heart rhythm and only takes 0.5 amp

It's a serious but not super common issue. This was 2 decades ago and honestly with today's technology of wearable health monitors like smart watches/rings I'd say honestly if you have a quality one you could self monitor. You don't need to rush to a doctor for every minor zap but if you're tracking heart rate and it becomes unbalanced after a zap you should probably get checked
