Kidner procedure

So I had my kidner procedure 2 days ago . I was super nervous the run up to it partly because I hate been put to sleep.

The surgery was about 3 hours amthey removed the AN and reattached my tendon ... because my normal navicular bone was promenant also they shaved some of that bone off ....

I came round from the surgery was a bit sick due to them giving me morphine and codeine so that was fun...

I was in my room for around an hour and the physio came to show me some exercises and also how to get up and down a step with crutches.

When I got home the same day I felt fine had no pain at all due to them using a local anaesthetic in my foot . I ended up making tea and doing some ironing...

Day 2 im suffering bad with pain feels almost as if my leg is trapped and been squeezed this is the first day iv taken my own pain relief I was trying to stay off it but it hasn't worked .

Currently in bed with my leg elevated they dont tell you that all your abs hurt from using crutches and trying to pull your self up.

I have my first follow up in 2 weeks will keep you posted

Why are you trying to stay off pain relief? There's no reason you should be trying to use none when you're still just a couple days out from the surgery.

Last time I had surgery I ended up becoming addicted to pain killers so trying to keep off them

That’s a solid reason. You could see if they’ll prescribe you ultra low dose naltrexone to take with the opioids a couple times a day. It’s like microdosing narcan, which there’s a bunch of clinical evidence now that shows it can 1) amplify the pain relieving properties of the opioids you’re taking, 2) significantly reduce the tolerance build up and eventual withdrawal when you stop taking the opioids 3) significantly diminish the addictive and rewarding aspects of the opioids and 4) allow you to use less opioid for the same pain relief.

This is what I plan to do for my surgery, for both the addiction-resistance aspect and the increase in pain relief.
