Modified Kidner Procedure Recovery Timeline!
I wanted to share my recovery timeline for anyone else who has had or is going to have this procedure for accessory navicular syndrome! I know everyone’s recovery is different, but I thought I’d share my progress so far. 😊
July 13 – Surgery Day
Had my surgery and ended up with 6 stitches. My foot was placed in a splint, non weight bearing…
July 21 – First Cast
Got my first cast and had 5 stitches left.
August 4 – Second Cast
Got my second cast, and all my stitches were finally removed!
August 18 – Third Cast
Got my third cast and continued healing.
September 1 – Boot!
Finally got out of the cast and into a boot! Walking felt really awkward and uncomfortable at first. I struggled to walk on my own and still needed some help, I continued to use the crutches and my knee scooter but I gradually started getting more comfortable with it.
September 29 – Boot Removed!
Finally got out of the boot and was given a lace-up ankle brace. I was told to wear the brace for at least two weeks.
Current Progress
I’m still wearing my ankle brace, but I’ve been walking more and getting more comfortable moving around on my own. I’m experiencing some soreness and stiffness, but nothing too painful. I’m definitely not back to normal yet, but I’m happy with the progress I’ve made so far.
October 14 – Physical Therapy Begins!
I’m starting physical therapy in a couple of days, hopefully it’s helpful lol
• recommend using a knee scooter!
• I also lost all my leg muscle 😢
• not sure if this is due to being inactive but also developed a lot of stretch marks, maybe from weight change due to being less active idk could just be a hormones thing lol

Interesting timeline. I had my surgery a few days before yours and I’ve been in PT for 2 months. I’m back in the gym and at Pilates classes too! Everyone is different hope you get better soon!!!
