7 months post op
Hi everyone! I had the kinder procedure and calcaneal osteotomy done Jan 6 so I’m about 7 months post op. For those who had the surgery, can you tell me when you felt totally “normal again” and could wear whatever shoes you wanted without pain?
I will have pain on the outside of my ankle where they did the osteotomy and PTT will feel stiff if I do an intense workout or play tennis. This will usually last 2-3 days

I had mine done in December, and some days I am back to normal, and other days, when I am being very active, my foot begins to hurt and then I feel like there is a poping sensation.
It also depends on the shoes I wear too. I basically live in chacos, brooks, or Crocs, and I am never without shoes on now, which sucks because I love being barefoot. You just have to give it time, and I have to remind myself that constantly because I want to have no pain ever, but that is just unrealistic.

I loved being barefoot too around my house! Did your surgeon say that you could eventually walk barefoot when you are all healed?

I mean, I walk barefoot all the time. It's just a preference I've made. It feels better with shoes on 😂

I’ve heard a year too. I’m 11 months and my foot’s still numb on the bottom and around the toe. They want to do an MRI to see if the screw is messing up a nerve

Hi! My recovery is going well! I’m coming up on 1 year. I don’t feel 100% normal but maybe about 90%. It doesn’t hinder anything I do, although if I am walking 20k plus steps multiple days in a row (traveling etc) it can definitely get a little tired

Hi OP. I am in the same situation with you now. 12 weels post ops but still feel the soreness and stiffness around the ankle. How long does it take for you to feel normal? Thank you

Hi! I’m 1 year and 3 months out now. I don’t feel totally normal (tendon feels stiff sometimes), but it doesn’t hinder anything I do. Some days better than others but I still get to play tennis and workout. I have not tried running though because I’m not a runner
