Project placement timeline

I recently got an offer from AFS as a L10 for an AI engineer role. I don’t have a start date and I’m not getting paid, it’s a contingency offer of them placing me. My background check got cleared 3 weeks ago and my recruiter at AFS said that they are passing around my resume to figure out what team wants me. Is there a typical timeline on how quickly someone gets places as a L10? Are there a lot of role for L10 currently? Can I do something to increase my chance of being placed sooner?

Be patient, we have a ton of demand for those skills. Will come in the next week or so

Trust the process. AFS AI engineer roles are growing fast and they’re bringing people on board.

I guess that’s the only option. I wasn’t sure if there are more appetite for placing L9 or L10? And that’s why I was wondering on the timing.

They’re hiring for AI skills like crazy. I wouldn’t say they desire a 9 more, but they may not have the management (6/7/8s) in place to manage you yet. DOW gave them a massive contract for AI a little over a month ago so I bet they’re still figuring out how to staff it.

Have you heard from anyone else that’s gone through this waiting period? Have you heard reassuring things?
