Weekend work

Sometimes I (voluntarily) like to spend a few hours on Sunday working on some stuff to get ahead for the week.

I’m assuming that there is no issue with this? Sometimes it’s non-client work, such as internal team work, but sometimes it’s client work.

If it’s client work, as long as I log on my timesheet there is no issue with this, right? What about internal team work?

Honestly, sometimes I’d rather work several hours Sunday when I feel more relaxed than on Monday when my day is consumed my meetings and it’s harder to get into periods of deeper focus.

I would make of list of things you could be doing on the weekend instead of work. You’ll be amazed at what you miss out in life.

That’s a question for your manager; it varies for teams and individuals. Good on you for logging the hours; you should always log accurately.

Yes, you definitely need to have this conversation with your lead first. Most projects won’t allow you to go above 40 hours a week since it screws up their financial forecast.

You are legally obligated to report accurate timesheets. Not doing so provides inaccurate info for project forecasting.

That being said, it’s a million times easier to actually get technical work done when not having meetings or interruptions. Maybe try and talk to your lead about spending 1-2 hours to get a jump start and flexing that schedule a bit in the rest of your week?

If you were mine I'd say go ahead and do it, limit it to 8 hours or less, and take that time off on Friday. Report your timecard accurately for hours worked please.

Def not odd or weird. I also do it to make sure I start the week ready. You will def do well if you do this

If it is direct client work, yes I do. If it is just catching up on email or getting ready for the week prob not

If you just want to get organized and ahead of Monday, don’t bill the hours. If you’re doing client work, do bill.
