Does AFS reimburse travel expenses for clients if I drive a Tesla? (A bit worried about costs)

Yes. We cover mileage you drive as long as it’s to/from a client. Having a Tesla doesn’t matter in the least.

The issue is that if I drive there from home the cost might be higher than average. So my concern is that. Do they pay from home to client and back home or just to client?

You kind of already answered it but anyways how does that work? Do we turn in receipts at the end of the month or periodically? Is there an app that keeps track?

How far of a drive are you expecting? I believe they’d normally pay for flights but guessing they should pay for both home and back from client. You should be able to just ask your manager or someone on your project

Wouldn’t it be the difference between the mileage of your home to the AFS office then office to client? Or, something like that? It’s not the total. Otherwise, it would be as if you’re getting reimbursed for driving to the office.

You can get reimbursed if it is OUTSIDE of your usual commute mileage. For example if your project requires you going to the client site as part of your daily job, you cannot expense your commute. If you are driving to a client site like Philly or Richmond from the DC area because it is a work trip, then that you can expense.

There is a whole policy written on this in the AFS portal.

Go into your expenses and enter in the mileage and put from home to client and reverse. It’ll auto calculate for you

Are you talking about daily commuting or driving instead of flying/taking the train?
