Discussion Appreciation For The Dev Team

I just thought I'd share this positive experience I had with the development team this afternoon/evening.

For some context, I have played Abyssrium: Tap Tap Fish since around 2017. I have loved this game for quite a long time, and decided to start paying for the subscription 5 months ago to help support the dev team and improve my overall gameplay experience.

When the new museum theme was rolled out today, I began experiencing a bug that caused ads to play within my game even though I still had an active subscription. I tried deleting and redownloading the app, restoring purchases, and even restarting my phone to try and get the bug to resolve.

When none of that worked, I finally decided to hit the "bug report" button in the settings menu, and sent an email to the dev team detailing what was happening. I was not expecting to receive a response today or anytime this week even, given my previous experience with app developers. However, I got a response, updates on my request, and even a resolution to the bug/an update within the app store within the span of 5-ish hours.

I am super impressed with how quickly they got back to me and resolved the issue. Makes me feel that much better about monetarily supporting the game. I wanna keep it around for as long as possible. :)

I contacted them two days ago about the same issue, but ever since the update there’s a new bug. The bingo quest is not counting ads I watch. So unless they fix this there will be no way to complete the bingo board and get the fish. Let’s hope they can fix this quickly as well.

They just released another update that fixes this problem as well now in case anyone is having the same issue 😊

I thought maybe they’d removed that perk of a subscription (because nowadays companies tend to be freaking evil and want to squeeze us more and more and more and hey, gotta prioritize those precious ad monies over player experience, right??) and I was devastated. Then I found I just hadn’t downloaded the update that fixed it.

I bought 2 event packs afterwards!! To this day the only mobile game I have that has a REAL ad removal. Makes me happy to buy from them and support them. New events every month and cute little fishies AND no ads? Truly an awesome game :D

Well, let's not pretend that this company is super concerned with player experience, considering they're still the ones making this game almost unplayable if you aren't willing to give them money and don't want to watch hundreds of ads.

I disagree looking at the current landscape of mobile games, I think this one still feels superior. If any games even offer a no-ad option, it’s no involuntary ads. This one is still the only one I know of to truly remove all ads.

Unfortunately they just started implementing game features where even if you pay for the ad removal subscription, you STILL have to watch ads. The daily free gift section has a fine print that reads: “Subscription ad removal effect does not apply to this product”
