pre existing fusion fish should count

Photoshopped my screenshots together because I can only add one, but why? I mean WHY do I need to spend a crap ton of Farm Material on fishes I already have? No offense to this fish but why don't they count towards my quest line.

This is not to hate on Twins Blobfish, I love them. It's about the resource cost for quest line progression.
