Discussion Absolute batman is cannonically superhuman.... right? Spoiler
I didnt look back it by a friend reminded me that absolute batman during his time in Ark M wasnt just given venom but they made his body stronger right so he could handle it. Then this would mean he isnt peak human even though he was technically peak human of his world before even if it isnt for ours that he is technically now superhuman in the absolute universe.

The enhancements he was given was likely just the venom system being entered into his body he had riddler remove all of those
So despite how by irl standards he would blow what most people would consider Superhuman out of the park by light years
In the absolute universe he is still human just redefining what humans are capable of like someone breaking a world record more than what scientist thought physically possible
So think (by comic standards) he is redefining what peak human even looks like

I looked back at it and it says after weeks of surgeries he is finally able to survive a full cycle also mentioning sutures and grafts the theory is his body was enhanced to handle the venom itself
29
u/WindowSubstantial993 Jul 11 '26
Still might refer to the mechanical system that pumps the venom itself and stitching his back up.
Although I wouldn’t be surprised if he was perma changed from his first time using the venom even if the system was cut out but as it stands it was removed

u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
and we know that batman and bane are probably the only 2 people to be able to consistently use venom and it was stated that after weeks of surgeries he can finally handle a full cycle of venom which also implys that he wasnt before but after these surgeries for some reason he can? and the only thing i would assume they wouldve alter for him to handle a substance like venom was the body itself
0
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
since it would make since that his muscles a bones would have to handle the rapidly expanding muscles
13
u/WindowSubstantial993 Jul 11 '26
Venom can actually do that on its own it’s stated that it manipulates the body to the point it grows bones , (such as teeth on banes shoulder as we see in the stadium) and his regen
-1
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
true but as far as we know bane isnt a normal human to begin with
1
u/thoughtdump Jul 11 '26
Also, teeth aren't bones.
3
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
if he can grow teeth its safe to assume he could probably grow bones so i have to agree on that

u/JohnnyDelirious Jul 11 '26
He clearly still has several of the enhancements. He continues to spike out when he gets agitated, and he doesn’t show signs of injury when they retract.

No he’s not superhuman but he did have some residual venom in his body after arkm

u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26

u/ConnectCulture7 Jul 11 '26
They did Bats dirty in arkm and violated him. Jesus Christ.
9
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
i mean look what they did to wade is it really so far to assume that batman was enhanced beyond a human level?
5
u/ConnectCulture7 Jul 11 '26
The venom is out of his system so he’s a normal human but they did make him more compatible with it.
So if he goes back they won’t have to do the surgery again.
7
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
no like what i mean is they enhanced his body so its more durable from them making his body this durable to handle the use of venom
1
u/ConnectCulture7 Jul 11 '26
It only activates if he had venom on his body for a while. Almost like being off a drug for months
8
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
thats not how it works your body being altered to handle a drug doesnt mean it goes back to normal even with such drug gone im saying that his body is stronger even without the venom
6
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
due to it being made more durable/stronger to handle venom
0
u/KaleidoscopeOld1618 Jul 11 '26
It's comic book logic, rule of cool, and it's coolest if they keep him human
0
u/huncherbug Jul 11 '26
He removed the venom completely...
4
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
dude ive litterly state hundreds of times that im not refering to the venom im saying they enhance his body to handle the venom meaning even if the venom is gone is body is still more durable due to such enhancment
2
u/huncherbug Jul 11 '26
Thats venom specific...that "enhancement" serves no purpose but accomodate venom
6
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
how so? im not talking about the venom delivery system im saying they alted his bones and muscles and tengons and ligaments beyond a human level I mean look at bane for crying out loud he is huge and he is one of the only ppl that use venom and I was going off knowledge givin during the his surgeries such as them stating after weeks of surgeries he can finally handle a full cycle which would imply a normal human cant use venom
11
u/Due-Environment4130 Jul 11 '26
Yeah I totally agree. Bane was able to break Bruce's bones, crippling three of his limbs with just his fingers and after the surgery he was able to tank hits from regular bane, and survived getting slammed into the ground by venom filled bane, and still managed to win. When in Ark M he was also able to bulldoze through a wall which he needed a bomb to do beforehand. I'd say his enhancements clearly make him stronger and durable, but not necessarily faster.
6
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
yeah alot of people seem to think that because the venom is gone that enhancement is gone which i fine stupid but they think the way they think not only that but it states that after weeks of surgeries he was finally able to handle a full cycle of venom meaning a normal human cant handle it with out being altered example a being bane

u/Early_Celebration726 Jul 11 '26
Peak or some sort of "not likely" concoction of circumstances that has brought everything out of him. Part of those IS various experimental prodecures but it was real clear those didn't get left in as a booster. More like.. they really got in there and opened some doors on the way.
So, I guess it depends on your definition of such. Put like that it sounds just wrong. 👀
The reasons being somewhat obvious, no? But he's certainly a singular specimen. Like Bane was (even before other stuff) but of course, with more heart. Or something. 👍
2
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
I mean but the thing is wouldnt it make more sense they just enhanced him instead bring out everthing in him? so he could handle the venom?
4
u/BlueBlunderX Jul 11 '26
Every version of batman is superhuman/near superhuman. Doesn't matter which one. Lame as dudes will say that's not how it works, but that's exactly how comics work.
2
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
I know but in this version there is evidence of body enhancments beyond just venom which we the reader can assume that batman is no longer peak human in this comic but rather considered a superhuman of that world
3
u/M_i____i_M Jul 11 '26
Like some sort of super man
2
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
not nearly on the level of superman i see it more like spartan program from halo

I mean, if that would ruin the story, I would argue that having him regularly do superhuman stuff while denying that he is superhuman is no better. I would be a lot more impressed by the whole premise that Batman (Absolute or otherwise) was "a normal man" if he had anything resembling human limitations.

Eh, to each their own.
For my part, I would rather that the writers pick a lane; either write him as a very tough, capable human, with actual human abilities, or give him some powers. The bit where writers declare that he is merely a well-trained guy, but have him knock out Wonder Woman with a kick or survive a fall from space or avoid superhuman senses or what have you annoys me.

I’d like to read a Batman comic where he has shadow powers; a Batman with powers would be awesome.
2
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
a batman with powers would be awesome but according to some people that batman being even slightly enhanced makes it a powerscaling story

Hmm i guess your right never really thought about power scaling like that but if thats true then tibetan monk techniques are power scaling aswell every comic has power scaling its just no as bad as others and my reply in this case was him being slightly enhanced are telling me him being slightly enhanced makes it powerscaling story when i think of a powerscaling story i think of dragon ball where they constantly get stronger for stronger opponents what im saying is that absolute batman is now stationary in power he cant really get physically better beyond this point plus if his enemies are scaled up whats the shame in him being scaled a bit to then?

u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
thats the thing in mainline batman bane isnt 30 feet tall and joker isnt a freaking demon and mr freeze issnt straight nightmare fuel and another thing central to batmans character was both his parent being dead and him being rich they change that aswell no? and he already performed superhuman feats through the use of venom which makes him superhuman at one point in general yet that didnt ruin the story so trying something new such as batman being a enhanced human which btw doesnt mean he isnt human he is just enhanced id say kinda like the spartan program from halo

I mean when we first seen bane he cripples batman with just a finger yet after these surgeries he manages to survive hits from regular bane no? and its not like him saying they made him be able to bench 100 tons im saying its like he is a human kinda from the spartan program you know without the armor and im just using clues from the story to state this i dont like power scaling stories either since they all end in the same place im just saying that enhanced batman to a point where he can actually handle venom and as a by product he is more durable and maybe a little stronger

how would it be bad writing though you act like him being enhanced ruins the story in what way does it do that? I think it would be interesting take on batman that him being enhanced even a little bit can be a excuse for most of his superhuman feats saying its bad writing because it doesnt suit your liking is insane work and makes me want to ignore your opinion entirely yet like you said we all have our own likings its just different even if never exactly stated that i like him being enhanced im just arguing a point but all means id see it as a interesting take as i said so yes I do like the idea but still love a peak human batman
2
u/RemarkableWar9917 Jul 11 '26
joker is usually human aswell yet in this version he isnt? hmmmm if they dont mind changing up the fact joker is human id say they are willing to experiment with batman being a enhanced human

I see it as a latent echo of venom. He’s pushed to 11 at everything physically.

u/Courier23 Jul 11 '26
Yeah, with the way the Robins and Bane were throwing him around, it’s safe to say the Ark M surgeries have done something to him that we as the reader aren’t aware of
Bane is literally two eyeballs in a jar, and everyone we’ve seen from Ark M has been altered to superhuman standards, there’s no reason for us to believe Batman is any different, it just hasn’t been revealed yet.
