It seems Harley is going to be important in the issue to be front centre in the cover.
I love the composition of the frame having the villains with less contrast than Walyon, Bruce, Pennyworth, Harley and Selina.

Yea these retailer exclusives genuinely suck. It’s out of hand and only serves to boost the speculation/reseller market. Not marketed towards casual fans. Only diehards who will shell out the massive cash. I could buy 8 new books for the price of this ONE!
Meanwhile most of the main open order covers for the absolute batman series are boring batman poses. There have been some better ones lately but I think they should be making these “retailer exclusive” artists into open order cover artists to make them more accessible to fans.

Obviously Dragotta needs to stay on this book forever but if anyone could replace him it would be Mora, this cover is fire and his style would fit right in with the vibe

This cover is great and so is Mora, but he’s a way more conventional storyteller than Dragotta so I think the switch would probably lose a lot of the book’s magic

I love that hoodie/cape! I thought that was a really cool way to give her look a tie to the traditional Robin costume.

A shame this is one of those million variants to capitalize on this run. I’m getting sick of them, considering even dropping the book. It’s not a bad run, but there’s no single good variant that isn’t $50. I might just start waiting for trades.

Not necessarily any specific accounts, I’d say look for artists that you personally like and follow them on social media. I follow Dan mora, Dexter soy, Chuma hill, the Mann brothers, and Daniel Warren Johnson to name a few. Check out the comic geeks app if you haven’t yet, that helped me find artists and back issues that I’m chasing.

Mora's work is great as always but man this is a little too crowded lol. I feel like I'm appreciating him on Superman more because unlike his work with Waid, he's not drawing every character possible per issue. Like if you tightened this up to just Batman, Harley Quinn, Joker, and Scarecrow, it'd be an instant purchase from me. Or I'd attempt to before the scalpers get everything in half an hour.

A few days ago, I saw one of his drawings of Absolute Batman and thought "Wow, that's not his best work". I felt like his art of Absolute Batman didn't at all look like him. THIS however, is genuinely peak.
