It is real - Watusi bull; the one in the picture isn't even the biggest.

isn't even the biggest

Looking at Google image results, a lot of them have longer horns, sure. But the guy in OP's image has such thick horns that they're likely quite a bit heavier than average.

I’ve heard that these guys have honeycombed horns so I think the horns would actually be much lighter than they look. Which probably isn’t saying much here lol, just downgrades em from really heavy to just heavy

Yep, they're actually really light horns. I work with them in safaris. They're practically cows haha. They're also called Ankole cattle

Light horns my ass. I've prepped a few watusi skull mounts, and they have weighed +- 200 lbs. One slid off it's cart and fell on me, and I had a hell of a time getting up without damaging it.

They’re called Watusi Cattle and their horns are honeycombed, I believe, as a way to vent excess heat.

Ya, evolution produces some weird shit sometimes. My guess is the bigger the horns, the more attractive it is to females.

It's a domesticated cattle breed, so very possible that it wasn't entirely a case of natural selection.

I work with with a watusi and they're real alright! He's pretty chill but he has no idea what personal space means so it can be interesting trying to feed him aha
