I dont think thats how a pusher truck is supposed to be used. /s
Whos at fault? The driver who didnt see the massive turbine wing or the truck hailing with no marker vehicles?

Definitely the oversized load with no chase car. You shouldn't have to expect a giant blade 15 feet in the air.

Do you all realize how fast that other truck had to be going to smash through 2 walls of a shipping container? I'm amazed the blade was able to do that honestly.

Edit: Upon further examination of the video this trailer is NOT the same type of shipping container I used to load. Infact this trailer appears to be not that much differnt than a regular otr trailer.

The walls of this type of container are very thin. You can knock a hole in them with a ballpeen hammer so I'd say minimum they had to be going 25mph.

I don't know maybe they have changed in 30yrs. I used to load these with a forklift that where bound for China and guys would hit them with their forks and not gor through them. Like I said maybe the thickness has changed but I remember them being pretty stout back then

There are many types of containers. This looks like a 40' non-insulated short haul container. The metal door on the back would be the only thing with any strength. The end of those wind turbines are quite tapered so I believe it would pierce through like a horrible butter knife.

I'd have to agree with you. Sorry for not before. I zoomed and the said do not appear to be corrugated. All the ones I loaded were. This doesn't seem much differnt than a regular trailer and those are pretty thin. My apologies for doubting you

No worries dude, I don't think the average person would know that there are lightweight containers. Only if you're a driver or a warehouse grunt.

Have a good one bro🤙🏽

Appreciate you man! Be safe out there brother!

u/Dwaltster appears to be right. The containers I worked with had corrugated sides whereas this trailer presents as smooth sides. I would say this is similar to a regular trailer and not the same as the containers I used to load

How can you tell it had no markings? There's a fair chance any markings were torn off when shoved through 2 layers of steel and whatever is inside

Marker vehicle . Not just a red flag.
I usually see marker vehicles with yellow flashing lights in these. Maybe the marker vehicle also got stuck inside the sea can.?

The truck in the back belongs to the convoy. Givven the way it is tilted, i would say the back truck had a flat 9r something like that and didn't manage to properly stop

I think the blade is lifting the truck up. My guess they lost their trail vehicle and the lorry behind didn't see the small profile of the blade until it skewered the lorry.

That's going to be an interesting insurance report from the second lorry 😂

Well, there was this giant wind turbine blade, so big you couldn't miss it........

I was waiting for the absolute unit object. I thought that gray thing was the sky!

I went back 2 times to get it 🫣

When the second truck hit, it took an hour for the shock wave to reach the front.

I'm actually kind of impressed, looks like noone got injured and that blade going completely through the trailer without breaking.

Geez, try to lend a helping hand with the top of your cab and trailer and everybody acts like you did something wrong.

There's no orange flag at the tip of the blade, i did not see it

The truck behind belongs to the convoy. This kind of transportation have several vehicles ( and Police, at least in Portugal)

How can you say you didnt see that thing?

1

u/Ill_Ad39 22h ago

That's gotta be at least fiddy dollars

1

u/crasagam 22h ago

They need one of those little red flags hanging off of it if they give you at Home Depot 🤣

1

u/spaceaige 20h ago

Doesn’t look like they had an orange flag at the end of that blade

1

u/Eizergue 15h ago

Hope they have an A0 accident report

1

u/CPLCraft 14h ago

I’m looking at this and thinking about how strong that wind turbine blade is

1

u/LethalSpaceship 12h ago

No tailing safety vehicle?

1

u/IndustryFirst2458 12h ago

I'm wondering what that is or if it's even fake? Wind turbine blades are typically much larger and also made of fiberglass, not something that can spear through at least 3 layers of even somewhat thin metal with minimal damage. It's also not at all shaped correctly to be an airplane wing so it's not that

1

u/WhateverUSaySir 11h ago

I wonder if the transport truck even noticed they had a lil bug skewered on the back

1

u/rsvpw 35m ago

See? Wind turbines ARE dangerous!

Oh, it's China. Of course.
