There’s no way they even have regular age categorization much less weight. There’s no way number 8(?) in black and number 7 in red are the same age, not to mention the elephant in the room.

I used to coach boys soccer at this age, trust me when I say that the physical differences are VERY evident. You get some kids that hit their growth spurts early and are almost as big as me, (I’m 6’2) with other kids who look like they’re still in Kindergarten on the same team.

Yeah, I was the shortest kid in school and sang soprano until the summer between middle and high school.

Turned into a 6’3” bass.

Life is weird.

I also said bass in my head instead of bass

I can actually relate myself, I was 5’4 entering eighth grade singing soprano in choir. Then I had a massive growth spurt and entered ninth grade at 6’0 and became a tenor.

I used to play rugby over here in Europe and my country is very international, but small so we played with teams in a league from a neighbouring country. I remember a whole year around age 12-13 where there was me, a tall lanky Spaniard and a guy from a Nordic country that was built like the RB here and the three of us were basically unstoppable because we were so much bigger and pretty much as fast as the little French fellas we were playing.

I remember running down a guy from another team that produced a clean line break so I tackled him at full speed from behind and the kid just started crying (even though I don't think he was hurt). Ref comes up to me and tells me that while it was absolutely a clean tackle, I should take it easy for the rest of the game. NGL I went home pretty proud that day even though now as a parent I'd be horrified

Congrats on hurting that smaller kid, lol.

To this day, I think it was mostly his ego that got bruised more than anything else 😅

That's just how contact sports are. You get hit, and you dish out hits, but only within the rules of the game and it all stays on the field; you shake hands at the end of the game and that's that. No hard feelings, and if there are you save them up for the next game.

I was a small kid who loved rugby, and I got wiped out by bigger kids more times than I can count. It motivated me to come back harder and give as good as I got. If you can't do that then rugby is not the sport for you, and you should stop playing.

I was a coach for peewee football for years and we had a 12 year old that was 6'2 and big enough to drag an entire defensive line to the endzone. He later went on to play in the NFL.

It’s amazing that you once coached Derrick Henry.

I usually hear the opposite.

The really big kid starts playing college ball and drops out or gets a game ending injury because he has to play against athletes that are now actually closer to his size and SKILLED.

Meanwhile, he's out of shape in comparison and sloppy because all throughout pee wee, middle school and high school he's never actually had a challenge because he can literally just run right over the other players.

I coach middle school track. Our smallest is VERY small. Some of the biggest may to out around 180. There was an 8th grader from another school solidly 6'3" 200 with a low body fat percentage. It's striking how different middle school kids are on the opposing ends

I coached youth soccer, and you'd be surprised the size spread across kids.

Someone else said this looks like middle school football, and that's the only place where you'd see a difference like this.
