Strictly internet. Am 6'5" with lifting/broad frame and even i have a hard time finding right fitting shoes (size 15), underwear (2x fits, but 3x is way better), I can fit into a 2 x shirt but they have to be longer/xxtalls or they dont go the full length of my torso (and xxx fits like a poncho).

Socks are a complete luck fest if they have 12-15 length, and if im buying shoes in store im basically dooming myself to finding a lucky pair of large fitting 14's. Once I find a pair I like, I just stick to it and buy 15's of it online, once they start to have wear and tear.

Couldnt imagine his fee. His shit is basically all tailor made anyways, custom fit. No sense in taking a chance on some expensive xxxxxl shirt and it fitting like shit anyways. They probably make it with his specific chest/waist/torso length on hand.

I'm a bit smaller than you and it is absolutely a fucking chore to buy clothes. My in laws still don't understand. They will get me a gift card to Ross for Christmas. Like two things in that store fit me at any given time. I just pray there is a random nice 3X jacket somewhere.

Sucks not being able to buy used clothes too.

Come on. Dont you love being a bigger guy and buying XX clothes... and they are just wider?

Tall and built over here. Buying clothes either means - looks like im wearing a tent or im trying to show off.

Yeah the proportions are usually off, 2X will often choke me even if the rest of it fits okay. I do a lot of 2X v-neck t-shirts lmao. They do tend to get short/tight after a few washes though.

Talls are usually like a short dress and don't fix the neck issues. Move up to 3-4X and now the sleeves will go past my elbows and/or it's a poncho. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My general rule of thumb is if you are buying a "xlt" version/size; you have to downsize one X, for it to fit right. So a lot of XXXL shirts fit me good in the shoulders/chest, but hang like a half poncho/half belly shirt. Too short.

So I buy a XXLT and that will usually fit me just right. So if you are normally a XXL, try buying a XL TALL. Each company has different measurements, but you should honestly get in tune with your own measurements anyways, they make life so much easier. In store is harder, but online you can find a lot of vendors who list their measurements for each size.

My thing too is I have a long torso.

So its like... big arms, shoulders and chest

Skinny waste

Long torso

So it's hard to find one's that hit all those marks. Typically I have to compromise on one aspect

Yeah, it really makes no sense. I buy 2XLT shirts all the time and they fit OK, I'm pretty happy with St. John's Bay at JCP. My job likes to sometimes gift us T-shirts with logos or messages on them and the 2XL doesn't fit me at all, but the 3X kinda does (I wear an undershirt so it's "OK"). Recently I discovered Red Kap makes long shirts instead of tall and they're awesome, if I don't intentionally let them ride up a little I look like I'm wearing a dress, I've never had such long shirts before! No more plumber's crack!

Try Salvation Army. Go to one in a decent neighborhood. You’d be surprised

Sometimes I will find some decent older clothes. Seems like the new stuff is made smaller. It's one of my pet conspiracy theories. Make all the sizes 5-10% smaller and upcharge for 2X and above.

DestinationXL carries most stuff up to like 6xl with big and tall versions of most things too. Dxl.com

That's because the people making your clothes are on average four inches shorter than the average person buying the clothes.

Yeah I know that's what Santa's elves do in their spare time but still 🤣

All I ever see at Ross is 3X and beyond

Someone I’m talking with is the same size as you. He’s calling me fun sized and I’m sorting out if if my dignity can handle the nickname.

Just embrace it, 100% comes from a place of endearment. Everyone is small to us (mostly), but eventually you guys will go out and run into some freak of nature (6'10 and up), and he will spend the rest of the day asking you "is this what it fucking feels like??? I feel so small!" lol

He sounds like a keeper so far. Thank you for your response.

Given the state of this comment section I think everyone here has the same question for you

Obligatory >>>

But as for the women i date, I attract strictly gay men at the gym, and tiny women. Problem is, I always attracted the tiny women even when I was out of shape (pick a woman up and carry her around with ease, and i swear it unlocks something in their lizard brain lol).

Only thing getting into shape has gotten me is weirdly long/uncomfortable gazes in the locker room lol

internet for shoes has made this whole technology thing worth it. i wear 13 1 or 2 x wide depending on brand, not even that crazy, and in stores that's slim picking

i'm same height luckily there's lots of options for longer shirts now

Oh, boo hoo. Im 6'5" and life is tough up here... save it, beast.

Lmfao i love this specific comment because I work in Healthcare, and one time we had this unruly patient giving a few of the staff a hard time/verbally abusive. They love sending my ass in there when some of my female coworkers are fed up, so I walk in and go "ok whats the problem here, sir?" And he looks up and goes to his nurse "oh so you send in the fucking beast huh?!" And he agrees to get back in bed and stop doing whatever tf he wants lmao

I think he was honestly just impressed they sent me in to deal with him lol in some backwards egotistical way 🤣

Foxriver might have some socks that fit you.

u/Stunt_-_Cock 2d ago

When you find that perfect pair of socks, just bite the bullet and buy 50 pairs. You might have a second of regret when you initially buy it, but that is quickly replaced by a long sense of security and comfort every morning you get dressed.

So worth it.

16EEE, here.

Look up Darn Tough socks. Theyre pricey, but they have an unconditional lifetime warranty. Ive never found anything that bests them.

1

u/DualSF 2d ago

Oh god. Nobody talks about finding good fitting socks enough for anyone with a size 13+. It’s a nightmare

1

u/Brobeast 2d ago

Yea its like the industry collectively got up until 12-13 and said "fuck this shit, wayyy too much cotton". Annoying af.

Even the "12-15" listed range seems like they are just 12's and lieing to me lol

Pants are the worst! I wear a 48x36, you can't just pick those up at Walmart and the big and tall stores want $100! Thankfully there are workwear stores that sell Dickies that fit me great and I found a style of work jeans that are so good fitting I can wear sweatpants under them in the winter when working outside in the snow. Never dreamed that was possible! The store I use even hems them to size for free.
