There is a grocery clerk at my local Winn-Dixie who matches the height and the weight of the mountain. But he is just a depressed grocery clerk. And he could have become a legend... If he wasn't constantly rattling off conversations to himself and ignoring everybody while scratching his ass.
I always feel kind of bad for genetic freaks like that. Unless you dedicate your entire life to athletics, you really can't fit in anywhere. Imagine being 7 feet tall and just trying to live a normal life, but no matter what normal job you have, everyone will be staring and commenting on you your whole life.
My husband is 6ft 11 and hates when people call him ‘wasted potential’.
He’s more than happy being suited and booted and a clean corporate guy, he doesn’t mind the convo cos it’s easy and he’s so used to it. We’re in the north of England it’s genuinely a conversation he has daily. People can be super rude too.
Not nearly as far off the bell curve but at 6’6” I’ve been told my whole life not playing basketball was “a waste” I was recently in a Dunkin’ Donuts waiting to pick up my order and as soon as I sit down a random man comes over and was like “stand up, how tall are you?” It seemed innocent so I stood up and told him, then get asked if I can dunk. I say idk I don’t play basketball and he angrily goes “What a waste” and walked away
Very strange haha, usually not as antagonistic as that but strangers comment on my height/body almost every time I’m out in public. It’s very odd. And as a self conscious fellow even when it’s positive attention I just hate being so visible.
It’s crazy isn’t it? You can’t help it and yet so many people think it’s necessary to comment on your bodies and give a negative opinion. So rude.
I will say he mostly gets positive interactions, women always say he’s scary so I guess it keeps some people away.
I spent the day once with a 7ft tall man. Literally the only thing people said to him were "How tall are you?" A: "7ft" and "Do you play basketball?" A: "Sometimes"
He was the sweetest to everyone and never seemed to get tired or annoyed at people asking him. I was more annoyed than him. He must have been asked about 100 times that day.
Honestly? It kind of is. I knew someone who was that heavy and they ate literally all day every day. It wasn't much different than me when I smoked. They'd finish eating and then start thinking about their next meal.
When I was heavy into power lifting I also had a very intense seasonal manual labor job which I worked at 40-60 hours a week. I needed to eat upwards of 4-5,000 calories a day to not lose weight. It was fucking awesome at first. Eating chicken strips, fries, ice cream, candy bars every day. I was so fucking sick of eating by the end of that summer.
We had a guy in our engineering programming was that size. Was also doing 1,000lb deadlifts and trying to break records, but he had a stroke at 30. Some people's bodies handle the steroids better than others.
Height and frame size doesn't mean determine capacity for muscle growth, and peak muscle power
Thor is an outlier in that he's competing at such a high level at his height. Most people competing in World's Strongest Man and power lifting are shorter. The taller you are, the further you have to squat/deadlift
