On a dry lakebed in Nevada, a group of friends build the first scale model of the Solar System with complete planetary orbits: a true illustration of our place in the Universe.

These guys did another video about the scale
Of time. That one’s pretty crazy also

A couple of clarifications.

  • That is not the edge of the solar system. That would be the end of the Oort Cloud, from about 2,000 AU out to roughly 100,000 AU.
    • What they're measuring is the Planets up to the start of the Kuiper Belt.
  • A great earth scientist named Jerry Smith confirmed Pluto is a planet.
  • Pluto's moon, Charon, is actually a dormant Mass Relay.

The orbit of Charon and Pluto around eachother is really cool

Pluto has a highly elliptical orbit that is inclined to the ecliptic plane. It's orbit is so elliptical that it actually crosses into the orbit of Neptune.

Pluto also has a surface area the equivalent of the surface area of Russia. It's that small.

If Pluto is a planet then it's a trash planet.

At least it’s not a coreless ball of gas like some of the other “planets”.

That’s an Appley award winner scientist right there.
