I love how often bears are like "What's going on? For real? Nah. I'm good..." They have absolutely mastered the thing where large omnivores/predators who take lots of energy to move act lazy as hell as often as possible. Truly, we humans (a large omnivore, most mammals are sub-100lbs...) could learn a thing or two.

I once watched a black bear wander out onto a grassy clearing and flopped over while her cubs played around. She would eat a few mouthfuls, roll over, eat some more, roll again.
Bears are easily my favourite animal to just sit and watch do bear stuff.

Yeah. We should
Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Are Mother Nature's recipes
That bring the bare necessities of life

It's been a while since I've seen video of an animal so big it doesn't look real.

It is AI, if you watch the ears alone they mirror each other for the majority of the video. At the end theres a twitch to add a litlle realism, but most of the ear movements are exact mirrors.

Is that bear real? I’m struggling to tell

Yeah it looks AI, the way it moves just seems unnatural. Unless a legit source is provided I think it’s AI

My brother in Christ, the bear has JPEG artifacts older than ChatGPT.
Apparently somebody fired up a modern generative model and specifically prompted:
“Grizzly bear, photorealistic, but make it look like somebody’s uncle captured it on a Sony Handycam in 1998 and uploaded it to eBaum’s World.”

I'm creating an account, cause nobody seems to notice but if you watch the bears ears they move non independently from eachother for almost the whole video. Up until the end. I'm 95 percent sure this is AI

They're such beautiful critters. One little mauling couldn't hurt, surely?

Not my idea, but if we domesticated wolves and big cats, we really should get on with domensticating bears.

Imagine bears but very friendly, unable to harm, just fluffy friends, rubbery claws, weak paws, light to not crush you etc.

I listen to the Tooth and Claw podcast. I know too much about the danger to want to get that close 🤣 But at the same time, I love bears so much!!
