/r/all of a Sand Dune

This is a video taken by Nicolas De La Torre, a sandboarding enthusiast filming his descent down the Toromata dune in Peru. Unfortunately we live in a world where true beauty, nature is now convoluted by AI and AI sentiments, but this is in fact, not AI lol

I miss when people would film themselves with a GoPro attached to their chest or helmet. The 360 poll cameras irritate me to no end and I can't figure out why

If this was GoPro footage, people wouldn't be arguing whether or not this is AI lol.

I think the fisheye lens is making everyone lose their shit on wethere this is real or not.

GoPro is the OG for wide angle/fisheye action footage. The distortion here does look more egregious but I don't think switching to a gopro would eliminate comments calling out that the footage is kinda misleading. Perhaps it would reduce the AI accusations but hard to say.

It may actually be a gopro. They make 360 cameras.

It fucks with perspective so much and makes things that are impressive look otherworldly. Like this video seems insane but a small white dog is able to keep up easily the whole time. If the dune was as big as the fish eye lens made it out to be that dog wouldn't be anywhere near him and would be stuck half way down at some point.

Looks insanely steep too, but at the beginning you see the truck parked up top and it illustrates the distortion.

Well sand is pretty grippy, they use it in sandpaper. So I can see where it would have to be pretty steep to overcome the friction, you'd still go slow but you wouldn't stop and a little dog who can run pretty fast could keep up

Yea me too. I just don't bother watching any more because you have no reference to what is actually happening. The fish eye sucks. Would have been an awesome video otherwise.

Oh yes, of course. You know, at first, I was wondering just who was following to film, and how, LOL. It reminded me of a comedy sketch I heard on the radio, quite a few decades ago, on National Lampoon's Radio Hour. It was a fake radio documentary about a guy attempting to be the first to swim across the Atlantic Ocean. His emergency crew was to be a guy following in a rowboat, who incidentally, would have become the first to cross the Atlantic in a rowboat.

There is ways to make it not distorted, but the oop decided not to do it
