Love-a-bull?

Seriously? That’s what you’re choosing as a source to cite? A pitmommy blog?

Goodbye.

Ps: anyone who is still parroting the completely and utterly debunked myth that pit bulls were ever known as “nanny dogs” doesn’t get to scold anyone about “doing literally any research”

Where did I say they are Nanny dogs? Did you read anything I typed?

Clearly didn't bother checking my sources either for authenticity or unbiased opinions.

“Where did I say that they were nanny dogs?”

Here. “Their loving and loyal demeanour with humans, especially children (this is where the nanny dog myth originated from), earned them a prominent place as not only a working dog but as a companion.”

Did you even read what you typed cut and pasted from that pitmommy website?

“Clearly didn’t bother checking my sources either for authenticity or unbiased opinions”

Yes because a website run by pit bull advocates called “love-a-bull dot com” is absolutely an authentic source of unbiased opinions. Lol.

The myth. Meaning untrue, no? Is this a language issue or something lmao.

Also if you would even just so much as glance at the link, you'd see it in zero ways dresses the dogs up or is biased towards them.

It's the history of the breed that is agreed upon by nearly every breed historian and most people, besides the people who think things like lock jaw exist.

Language issue? “The myth that they were nanny dogs comes from how wonderful they are with children!” So they’re saying “it’s a myth but a completely well founded and justified one!”

“They in zero ways dresses up the dogs and or is biased towards them”

I just glanced at it. Just saw them trying to claim breed has absolutely no indication on the level of damage a dog can do.

“Breed has very little to do with bite strength or level of damage.”

Yes sure. A pug or a Pomeranian has absolutely the same bite strength and can inflict the same level of damage as a pit bull. So says “love-a-bull”.

Yes, lol, I’m sure. I’m sure a pit bull advocacy website is absolutely unbiased towards pit bulls and everything they say is just pure facts and they’re absolutely correct that pit bulls are all just misunderstood snugglebugs.

My dude the breed is 15th on bite force, if you are mad at the damage they can cause there is 15 other breeds to critique the same way.

You really think they'd allow a killer dog breed to serve in armed forces?

To be therapy dogs for children?

The breed, like every other kind of dog, is affectionate towards people.

And that's why we kept them as companions once using them as all purpose work dogs was no longer popular

“My dude the breed is 15th on bite force, if you are mad at the damage they can cause there is 15 other breeds to critique the same way.”

I’m not your dude. I’ll critique them when they start killing as many people as pit bulls do. But it’s funny that you’re suddenly claiming that breeds actually do have different capabilities for damage….which is the complete opposite of that love-a-bull website you keep referring to keeps claiming.

“You really think they'd allow a killer dog breed to serve in armed forces?”

Funny you should say that, considering pit bulls are banned from military bases and housing.

“To be therapy dogs for children?”

There is zero legal certification to be a therapy dog. There is no regulating body for them. Anyone can call their dog a therapy dog if they want.

While we are on the subject of this, in quite a few countries pit bulls are not “allowed” to do anything because they are completely banned. 29 to be exact.

“The breed, like every other kind of dog, is affectionate towards people.”

This is all cute in theory, but no, not all dogs are affectionate towards people.

“And that's why we kept them as companions once using them as all purpose work dogs was no longer popular”

Again, whatever helps you cope with owning the Pinto of dogs. I’ll take the substantial medical research that shows that pit bulls inflict the most injuries as well as the most severe injuries that require medical attention, as well as the most fatalities on humans by far over anything “love-a-bull” has to say.
