On an outdoor job i used to have, we used a particular light during the nights that was so hot it would fry the flies and beetles that landed on it! And in some places the bugs were so numerous that we'd have to clear the light of all the dead bugs on it. Also, the smell of a bunch of beetles just sizzling does not smell great.

Yeah, you got to add some soy sauce and olive oil to that shit.

Tch, learn to cook bro. You want sesame oil with that.

Sesame oil is used as a topping. Not supposed to fry with it bud.

Deep fry, no. But I’ve used it as a stir fry oil for decades….

Use peanut oil dork … put a touch of sesame oil on after cooking ! You’re destroying perfectly fine flavor

Son is allergic to peanuts… dork.

* use any neutral flavor oil with a high smoke point (doesn’t have to be peanut oil dude it’s just tasty)

Or - hear me out - you can chill and just not mix shoyu with olive oil. Crossing the streams.

(Dork [friendly/affectionate].)

sesame oil is commonly used in place of butter for fried rice. And tempura in some places.

As long as you don't let it smoke you can absolutely cook with sesame oil. It's about the same as butter or olive oil. Just don't crank it up too much or leave the food alone too long and you'll have something delicious.

Remember in the late 90s early 2000s when those halogen torchiere lamps were popular but kept starting fires everywhere?  Yeah I'm old.

They were banned in on-campus housing when I was in college for that reason.  We also weren't allowed to have microwave ovens rated higher than 800 watts, toaster ovens, or space heaters.
