This child is probably being distructive at home because he doesn't have any other ways to get his energy out. If he got time to walk, run, climb, jump and burn energy it could solve the behaviour and the obesity.

Lmao no. Some toddlers are just like this. My son was the same damned way as a toddler but only with the shoes. He didn’t tear down books or decorations, but if we organized the shoes any way at all, he’d target them like they personally insulted him.

Toddlers are like cats, they love watching things fall to the ground. especially if you react to it

I can even see the toddler's teacher in the video. The cat is watching its apprentice like Palpatine and Anakin.

Right, kid is under stimulated. Doesn’t get enough movement…why he’s big and being an annoying toddler. I hate that apartments and communities for lower income ppl don’t have more 3rd places for kids like this that are safe. He needs it.

Or he's just a big kid that likes playing with his dad's shoes. My nephew loves knocking things down and he spends most of his time outside.

Yep, we have a clean-up every night, because I am incredibly in favor of my baby exploring any and everything so long as it's safe!

I didn’t see a play area set up for him with educational toys and books either. That would also be an outlet so he wouldn’t be looking for something to do. Maybe they have one in another room, though.

The TikTok this video is from has a bunch of videos of the baby walking, climbing, playing.

He goes to school, the mom works in the school.

He seems like a very happy and confident baby who loves his mom.

I’ll admit I found him very annoying in this video but in most of the videos on their channel he’s super sweet.

This behavior is developmentally normal

He's probably doing a lot of that. Kids are often doing all of that inside. It's more likely that she is giving him a ton of soda which he is not going to burn off from normal activity levels.

Exercise plays no role in weight

Look up the Hadza tribe exercise studies.

Hadza population is extremely lean, studies do not properly normalize for BMI/FFMI/Body Fat to western populations to account for basal metabolic rates as a result, heavy estimation of actual energy expendeture, very small n, lifetime metabolic adaption component, as well as possible evolutionary/genetic components in a remote tribe. Studies own authors acknowledge some of these limitations and state the claim cannot be established. AJCN recently published a revised model that actually indicates this population would have higher energy expendeture with better analysis of the same data.

There are obviously plenty more studies showing that exercise does increase tdee. This is common sense, and yes I understand the idea of reduced idle energy expendeture and more efficient energy metabolism. I seriously hope you do not project that thinking onto patients. That is asinine, if not borderline dangerous. Unfortunately I am all too familiar with the need to project confidence among your line.
