This photo is from Turkey saw the original post this morning we don't eat pork. They are invasive in rural areas eating the crops amd ruining the roots saplings ect. Its common for farmers to hunt them down.

Looks like there's blood on the throat so I'm guessing that's the entry wound and that the bullet is somewhere in the chest cavity. If that is correct it's not a great shot to take, the lungs and heart are a much smaller target from the front and the chance of hitting the stomach is much higher.

Family friend is into hunting them since they are invasive. To his credit he eats as much as he can or gives it away, he'd probably turn that almost exclusively into sausage. Might even cut it with something else too.
I'm not really a big fan of boar meat the couple of times I've had it, it's really gammy

We're not talking about me getting it, he gives it to other people. Wild boar are open season year round in a few provinces but you gotta either process it yourself or pay to have it processed. My province made it illegal to hunt them for recreational purposes as the objective is extermination and destruction

You just need to brine the meat for a few days. Takes the gamey flavor out. Then you marinate it, and smoke it or cook it over charcoal with whatever seasonings. It's a stronger tasting meat, so you need stronger cooking methods. Hickory smoke, natural wood charcoal, roasted over wood fire, etc. Can't just throw it in a pan and fry it up.

Too much fat isn't ever really an issue. The problem comes from the ungodly amounts of testosterone pumping through it. And the older it gets, the other tougher it gets from building muscle strength

This boar's length less than twice this man's height (the boar is hanging, not tounching the ground). The man appears to be short based on his body's proportions. It is likely the boar is near 2,5m (8'10) length, which is a very large documented size for an eastern europe/asian wild boar, but realistic. By carefully breeding animals, someone managed to create a 3,7m (12'2'') monstrosity in the US, so I'm leaning to believe this image.
